2019 Mile Long To Do List - Revisited

The last time I posted my Mile Long To Do List was back in February!  I  am not quite sure why I didn't post updates after that, but, it might be because I didn't achieve a lot of the items and it seemed futile to post lists that had little change.  But, things are starting to move, again, and I have revised the 2019 Mile Long To Do List:

Mile Long To Do List:
  • Paperwork/File/Shred - On going
  • Call again to have the outside cats spayed/neutered - previous calls didn't result in any action
  • Call for estimates on house repairs (various) - IN PROCESS
  • Check shower hot water flow in bathroom #1 - (showed it to A)
  • Replace ceiling heater unit in bathroom #1*
  • Replace 2 ceiling fans*
  • Replace ceiling light in daughter's closet*
  • Fix under sink cabinet door in bathroom #2 - (showed it to A)
  • Get a plumber to fix drainage in bathtub (bathroom #2) - (showed it to A)
  • Replace garage door opener system - REPAIRED it, instead
  • Replace the side garage door - DONE!
  • Clean out the garage!
  • Clean out the shed (mentioned it to M)
  • Buy paint for the front door
  • Paint front door
  • Declutter - On going
  • Buy new sofa slip covers - IKEA
  • Linen closet door - (showed it to A)
  • Install new vertical blinds in family room - (mentioned it to A; need to buy the blinds)
  • Repair water damage/tile border in bathroom #2 (showed it to A)
  • Redo kitchen floor (showed it to A)
  • Recaulk kitchen sink
  • Repair water damage to kitchen ceiling and wall
  • Have the house painted, inside (mentioned it to A)
  • Eventually, install new drapes (maybe after painting)
M referred an electrician he knows; I need to call and arrange for an estimate.  "A" is not an electrician.

I am feeling very hopeful that things on the list will get done, if not this year, then, maybe next year!

Do you have a similar Mile Long To Do List?

  1. I used to make to do lists regularly. These days, I do t even know what I would put on them. I’m more scatterbrained than I used to be.

    1. My to do lists are often a "late night brain dump"! Sometimes, I can't fall asleep because I keep thinking of all the things I need to do/want to do. Then, I write them all down and that helps.

  2. Quite a list! Looks like you've got some things done. We had plans for the summer but none of them got done lol. It's funny but the months from May to September seem to go so quickly and winter seems to go so slow! It's difficult to get outside things done here in Michigan in the winter, but hopefully some of the inside things can still get done!

    1. Some of the items on my list have been there for years! Lack of someone reliable who could do the work has hampered me for a long time. That's why I am so happy that the monks referred "A" to me. I hope you are able to get some of your to do items get done this winter. If not, there's always next year!

  3. If this handyman works out, you will have most of that list done in no time. Good luck.

    1. Thank you, Live and Learn. That's what I am hoping, too! He's here, this morning, taking a look at the plumbing. I was feeling rather down, last month, because I had been retired for a year and hadn't got any of these house repairs done, but, things are certainly looking up, this month!

  4. Well, you are making steady progress on the house improvements and repairs - what a blessing to spiff up your home. Even though I am reading the second of Marie Kondo's books on tidying, I think decluttering is an on-going adventure too. She thinks it is more of a one time event.

    1. It is, indeed, a blessing to be able to make the needed repairs, Susanne. For me, decluttering is on-going; I rather envy those who can declutter once and be done.
