November Grocery Shopping

November 8 Groceries

Today, I ran a few errands and went grocery shopping for the first time since I grocery shopped for the October prayer gathering!

First, I went to the bank and then, to the pharmacy.  Then, I went to the grocery store that is in the same shopping mall.  I bought:

2 boxes of cereal for $1.99 and $2.79 = $4.78
1 doz. eggs = $2.99
1 loaf bread = $1.29
1 pint half and half = $1.79
1 quart milk = $1.99
bananas @ $.59/lb = $1.11
Total = $13.95

I paid regular price for just about everything because I didn't want to spend a lot of time grocery shopping, today.  The Cheerios were on sale this week.  I bought the Life cereal, too, because my daughter is coming home this weekend and it's one of her favorites.

Nov. 8 Receipt

November grocery budget = $75
Spent to date = $13.95
Balance left = $75 - $13.95 = $61.05

Dancer Does Quality Control

Later in the evening, M tended to the garden.  He brought me a White Sage plant, which is a California native, as an early birthday present!  Hopefully, it will do well in my garden.  I made us some tea and we chatted for a bit while we drank the tea.

My daughter will fly in for the weekend, later, tonight.  I am looking forward to her visit, as always.  I changed her bed sheets and will do a load of laundry after I write this post.

Today, I am grateful for:
- A hot shower!
- An unclogged drain
- Being able to run a few errands
- M gifting me with another new plant for the garden
- Knowing I'll be seeing my daughter, tonight!

I am not making a to do list for tomorrow.  It's going to be "us" time with my daughter.

How was your Friday?  Have you gone grocery shopping in November, yet?  What is your monthly grocery budget?

  2. That was so sweet of M to bring you that plant. I hope you have a wonderful time this weekend with your daughter.

My November budget is going to be a bit higher than normal because I am stocking up for the winter and we are having a bunch of venison ground into burger meat. The venison is a gift from our Chris and Heather, but we are paying to have some of it ground up since that is what we use the most of. Hopefully the venison should last us all year until next hunting season since we also eats lots of chicken, fish and some pork throughout the year also.

    1. It really was very sweet of him to do so. Thank you; it should be a fun weekend. :)

You are blessed to get the gift of venison from your son and daughter-in-law, even if you have to pay to get it ground up. Glad you are able to stock up now for the winter. :)

  3. I hope you enjoy your birthday celebrations with your daughter. Is she still with you for the actual day on the 11th or does she have to go home before?

I had to Google the white sage plant ... it looks lovely and am keeping my fingers crossed that it does well in your garden.

    1. Thank you, Eileen. She'll be here for the actual day. She flies back on the 12th. I haven't quite decided what I want to do as far as celebrating, but, we'll probably go out to eat. :)

    1. He is indeed a good friend and helper. His aunt Kate was my neighbor and I first met him through her. She had him mow my front lawn (back when I had a front lawn!) when I was in the hospital, having my daughter. He's been doing my garden for me since then! He and my mother got along famously; he used to take her to the bank, to the temple, make her French toast for breakfast, etc., when he'd come to do the garden and, of course, he was the last person to see her alive. I think she entrusted the care of the garden to him!

Ha, ha, I gave the rest of the Peppermint Patties and Kit Kats to my daughter! :D
