The Pink Blanket |
The pink blanket I was making for my daughter is finally done, although I still need to weave in the ends of yarn on the wrong side.
Big Enough for a Queen Size Bed |
I like it; daughter says it's "vibrant". Apparently, she would have preferred the blanket to have been pale pink and white, only.
Pink Grannies |
I told her that if she didn't like it, I will be happy to have it. I like the bright pink granny squares. Reminds me a little of the peach blossoms:

So far, today, I took down the Christmas decorations that were in the living room, did a load of laundry, cleaned out the fridge (just a small serving of the dump cake and one hardened piece of pastry got thrown out), took the trash cans to the curb for pick up in the morning, and oiled and trimmed my daughter's hair. Need to water the indoor plants and vacuum daughter's room.
I chatted on the phone with one cousin and Aunt C and exchanged emails with friend R and will be replying to another friend's email, later in the evening.
I had a leftover half of an egg salad sandwich for brunch and daughter had a sauteed chicken sandwich; we both had a cut up fresh orange afterwards. Daughter has requested the leftover sauteed chicken and vegetables for dinner, so that just needs to be warmed up.
Today, I am grateful for:
- All my blog friends taking the time to read and comment on my blog posts
- Electricity and having access to the internet
- Working appliances
- Weekly trash collection services
- A new blanket

How was your Monday? What are your plans for Tuesday?
I am not naturally drawn to pink but I love the blanket! It is a "happy" covering and I do love things that make me smile.
ReplyDeleteTonight I am seriously grateful for heat in the house. It is cold outside!
Thank you, Anne. I like the bright colors in the blanket. I'm glad you have heat in the house. I saw on the news that some of the southern states were having snow!
DeleteQuesta coperta è stupenda, tua figlia è molto fortunata
ReplyDeleteThank you, Stefania. She knows that she is very lucky. :D
DeleteWell I for one love the vibrancy! I note that your daughter sautéed her sandwich., Often if we have a lunchtime sandwich, I eat mine cold, but Bob sautés his in butter.
ReplyDeleteGlad you love the vibrancy, Angela. We need a spot of bright, vibrant color in our lives, don't we?
DeleteI'm sorry for the misunderstanding - what my daughter had was a sandwich with sliced leftover sauteed chicken. But, quite often, I will saute a sandwich in butter if I want something hot, and call it a "grilled" sandwich, even if I make it in a frying pan and not a grill.

Hello dear Bless,
I know not why, but I'm unable to comment on your blog. I love your pink blanket, very similar to one I made for myself last year.

Hello Joy,
DeleteI'm sorry you are not able to post on my blog. I don't know why.
Thank you; I remember seeing your pink blanket on your blog and commenting on it. :)
The blanket is gorgeous, Bless. And, yes, the squares do look like the peach blossoms! I'm at work later today, but no for too long, thankfully. I'd much rather be at home, keeping cosy and warm. Xx
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jules. Hope you were able to get home early and keep cosy and warm. :)
DeleteThat blanket is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThat's a busy day and the food sounds delicious. You make the most of everything.
Thank you, Lyssa. :)
DeleteYes, it was a busy day and the food was quite tasty, if I say so myself. My daughter liked the sauteed chicken and vegetables that I made, so that makes me happy. :)
Like Anne, I'm not drawn to pink, either, but I like the bright pinks of the blanket. Has it been decided? Does the pink blanket stay with your daughter or is it yours now?
ReplyDeleteThank you, June. My daughter says I shall keep the blanket here for her! LOL. She doesn't want to take it up with her when she goes back to Berkeley because it will become one more thing to pack up and ship back when she comes down at the end of summer. She has been looking into moving costs. She doesn't have any furniture other than a small bookcase and a stack of plastic drawers (her apartment came furnished), and she will give away some of her belongings, but, she will still have clothes, small appliances, books, etc., that she will want to bring home.
DeleteLove the pink blanket. As Anne said, it's a very happy blanket. And that is good :) Maybe folded up at the foot of your daughter's bed instead of laying it fully over will make it appear less "vibrant" lol
ReplyDeleteThe broccoli soup turned out good although I may have overdone the cayenne. But who's complaining? Not us lol
Maybe tonight we will have English muffin pizzas with it.
Thank you, Debra. Yes, the blanket is bright and cheerful, isn't it? Maybe I'll make her a muted pale pink and white blanket and keep this one for myself! :D Although, she already has a pale pink blanket that I made for her, when she was a baby, which is big enough for a twin bed/sofa throw.
DeleteYour soup sounds like it was warming as well as nourishing. We like spicy soups (I often add a serrano chili or two to mine). The English muffin pizzas sound good, too. :)
The blanket is lovely! Very cheerful.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Celie. Yes, it's very bright and cheerful. :D
DeleteThe blanket is gorgeous! The different shades of yarn work very well together.
ReplyDeleteI'm still working on the Christmas decorations, and got more taken down to the basement this morning. I have only the creche and the tree and the angels to deal with now. I brought up the box for the angels but got no further!
Thank you, Bushlady.
DeleteI am still trying to put away the Christmas decorations, myself. I just brought in the bin for the tree decorations from the garage. It's blowing a gale, over here!
