SPSH - 2nd Link Up

It's time for the second link up for the Summer Photo Scavenger Hunt (SPSH), hosted by Mary-Lou at Patio Postcards!  In fact, I'm a couple of days late!

The first link up is here.

I haven't been able to take many photos for the second link up, but, here are what I've managed to take so far:

#3 Something Netted or Webbed: I have something netted (a bag which held oranges) as well as something webbed (a spider web in the garden)

Netted

Webbed

#5 A Bridge - Yes, I know I'm cheating a bit, here, but, this movie was filmed in my country of birth and, what's more, family lore has it that my step-father's brother was one of the extras!

A Bridge

#11: Extraordinary Water - Nothing quite as extraordinary as a summer rain in August in southern California, especially when it is a hurricane turned tropical storm and buckets brimming with collected rainwater!

Rainwater in August!

And puddles of rainwater on the driveway in August!  Although, it could also be a candidate for #8 - Some Shadows:

Puddles of Rainwater on the Driveway

#12:  Summer Tools - Practically the only tool one needs in the summer in southern California, unless there happens to be a hurricane turned tropical storm passing through!

Garden Hose

Alt A: Your Favorite Summer Taste:

Passionfruit

Thank you, Mary-Lou, for hosting the Summer Photo Scavenger Hunt.

    1. Thank you, Celie. :) I'm still planning to take a drive to find some of the remaining photos, but, I thought I'll be a bit creative with the bridge prompt! :D

  2. Good pictures. The netting on those produce bags is something I find annoying, as when I cut into it to get the contents out, I always find a host of tiny bits that I have to clean up!

    1. Thank you, Bushlady; I do wish that they don't use the plastic netting, but, I guess they don't have string bags or something different.

  3. You did wonderfully well with the prompts, great photos. You weren't cheating with the DVD and that's fascinating about your family member being an extra in the film and it being filmed in the country of your birth. We have that DVD and may have to watch it again :)

    1. Thank you, Eileen. There's still time till the end of September, if you decide you want to join in the fun! Just let Mary-Lou know.
Yes, the movie was filmed in Ceylon, as it used to be called back then. :)

  4. Thank you Bless for joining in with the SPSH. I really like all your choices for the lists!!! I think that is half the fun is finding the unusual to go with the item. I chuckle at seeing Mama Cat getting a drink from your rain buckets - indeed precious & magnificent water. My friend in BC near one of the wildfires sent me photos of the magnificent rain that came in time to save her farm from fire. WOW that a family member got to be part of the iconic movie Bridge Over The River Kwan.

    1. Thank you, Mary-Lou; I have fun participating and finding suitable things to photograph, even in the confines of my house and garden!
I'm so glad to hear that your friend in BC's farm was saved from the wildfires by a timely shower of rain! How marvelous is that?
Well, that's what my step-father's sister said, that her oldest brother had been an extra. But, the fact that the movie was filmed in Ceylon, as it used to be called back then, is true. :)

  5. I will watch the Bridge Over the River Kwai differently now. I'll look for someone who looks like you. Now, if I only knew what you looked like. :)

    1. LOL, June, even if you knew what I looked like, it wouldn't help! My step-father's family are of Chinese origins and his brother was cast as one of the Japanese soldiers. :)

  8. Hi Bless! I've been away for a few days and so I was shocked to read of the hurricane. Thank goodness you were okay and that you didn't experience any damage. Still, it would have been a worrying time for you.
You've chosen some great images for the prompts. I especially like the water one :)

    1. Hi Jules, yes, I was a bit concerned about the winds they were forecasting. I was especially concerned about the eucalyptus tree in the front garden (it's due for a trimming this fall) and, of course, patio roof panels flying off! But, luckily, we didn't experience such high winds in my area. We did get an earthquake to even things out, a bit, though! :D
Thank you; glad you liked the images I chose. :)

  9. Great finds! I've been looking for webbed more than netted, and there it is right in front of me!

    1. Thank you, Karen. Yes, I was looking for webbed, myself, and at the end, I decided to add the netted, as well. :)
