On Sunday...

Dancer Coming Out of the Bathtub

On Sunday, I happened to see Dancer coming out of the bathtub!  By the time I ran to get my cell phone to take a photo, he was almost ready to jump out, but, I managed to get a picture!  No, he didn't want to take a bath!  There is another blue bucket inside the tub, with water collected from when I wait for the shower water to warm up; I use the water to water the ornamental plants in the front garden, and, apparently, Dancer wanted a drink of water from that bucket instead of from the bowl of water I keep for him in the kitchen!

On Sunday, I changed out the dust sheets I put on the family room sofas and did two loads of laundry, both of which were hung up inside the house to dry.  I also folded and put away dried laundry from Saturday.  I am all caught up on laundry, at least for now!

On Sunday, I called the pharmacy and made an appointment to get my flu vaccine on Monday afternoon.  I believe I have another $5 off coupon that has been loaded on to my loyalty card; I hope to find something to purchase with it before it expires on Wednesday!

On Sunday, I did some paperwork and tried to change the printer ink, but, apparently, all I have is ink for the old printer; those cartridges won't fit into the new printer.   Daughter said she will order some new printer ink.  I also made a birthday card for a family member's birthday, but, I forgot to take a picture of it.  I remembered to put away the cardmaking stuff after I had finished!

On Sunday, I had a phone chat with former neighbor T.  Later, when I went to water the front garden, T's daughter K came over to say hi.  She had been cleaning out the last of the items they had in the garage and had set everything out on the driveway for a charity organization to come and pick it up, tomorrow.  There was a stack of plastic shoe boxes among the items and I was very tempted to ask if I could have them to store craft supplies, but, I restrained myself!  I do not need any more storage containers; what I need to do is empty out the contents of the containers I already have!  K said they are hoping to close escrow on the house by the end of the month or so!  There was no "in escrow" information on the realtor's website when I checked earlier in the day, but, it sounds like I'll have new neighbors before long!

On Sunday, I had some of the tabouleh followed by rice and chicken curry for lunch; dinner was a chicken curry sandwich.

On Sunday, I managed to get a few other things done, as well, including doing the dishes and scrubbing the kitchen sink, cleaning Dancer's litter box, exchanging emails with friends, and video chatting with my daughter.

On Sunday, I was grateful for:
- Water for the garden
- Working appliances
- Access to vaccines, etc.
- Being able to keep in touch with friends, family, and neighbors
- Blog friends who read and comment on my blog

Sunday's joyful activities included crocheting, card making, and video chatting with my daughter.

Plans for Monday include getting my flu vaccine.  I'm not sure what else I'll be able to accomplish, afterwards.  It would depend on how I feel after the vaccine.  The only thing I have to do, other than feed Dancer, is take out the trash cans to be collected on Tuesday morning.

How was your Sunday?  What are your plans for Monday?

  1. Cats are so funny aren't they, we have water bowls everywhere for the dogs and Ginger and yet his favourite place to drink out of is the little cupped hands bird water bowl in the garden.

Sunday was brilliant, a lovely lazy day spent catching up on washing and blogging, and today I am getting stuck into menu planning and sorting out my rations.

    1. Cats are very funny. I've a feral cat in the garden and she will drink water from the saucers I've put under flower pots instead of the dish of water I keep for her!
I'm glad you had a relaxing Sunday and I'm looking forward to reading about your menu planning and rationing. :)

  2. Adorable photo of Dancer. I would have been tempted with the containers but you're right, our goal is to reduce not create more storage for more things (col). Fingers crossed no ill affects from the flu jab.

    1. Thank you, Mary-Lou. I had to give myself a very stern talking to, to not take any of the containers! I'm on a mission to declutter and reduce the contents of my house, not add to it! LOL.
Well, plans changed as the pharmacy called to say they had to cancel my appointment (they didn't receive the high dose vaccine they were expecting). The flu vaccine will be postponed for another week or two.

  3. Samantha, a cat we used to have would only drink from a drip in the bathtub. For that reason, we didn't fix it. It was a little drip, so I'm not sure we used much more water than we would have filling bowls for her.
Is it time for a flu vaccine already? Are they predicting an early season?

    1. Our cats have trained us well to accommodate their wishes, haven't they? :D
Well, there was an ad on the TV about getting your flu vaccines (and the Fall Covid booster when it becomes available) and when I was at the pharmacy to collect my inhaler, last week, they asked me if I wanted to make an appointment for my flu vaccine. I guess they are trying to get people vaccinated early, this year? However, the pharmacy called to day to cancel my appointment saying they had not received the high dose flu vaccine they were expecting and to reschedule for later. I'm still not going about much, so, I think I can wait a bit longer without any problems.

    1. I guess the water in the other bowl is always tastier? Mama Cat in the garden will knock over jars of water in which I have put cuttings to root and drink the water instead of from the bowl I keep out for her! Or, she'll drink from the saucers I've placed under the flower pots to catch run off water!

  5. Haha Dancer is a silly boy and I just love reading about him :)
Well done on refusing more storage boxes and I do hope you get some more good neighbours and not noisy ones.

    1. He is always up to something, isn't he?
Thank you, Eileen; I love having containers to organize things into, but, what I need to do is declutter what I have, not get more containers! I already have one empty plastic shoe box and that should be enough!

  6. For cats, water in any other container than their water bowl just tastes better! Or the bowl needs to be in an odd place! I keep w small bowl on my desk, which is the preferred for my cat. I was tempted today to buy another storage bin, but resisted!

    1. I had no idea that he would actually climb into the bathtub to get at the bucket of water!
Well done resisting the temptation to buy another storage bin! Sometimes, however, extra storage is needed and it's fine to buy the storage bins then. But, for the most time, I think we can manage with what we have!

  7. So Dancer frequents a secret drinking establishment! I hope you find something good to buy with your $5 certificate when you go for your vaccination. I'm not sure if we are eligible for the next one yet, the last was in March, so I will check. You did well to resist the shoe boxes! I have some with shoes in that I haven't worn for a long time. I may have to think about donating them.

    1. Ha, ha, yes! The secret life of Dancer! :D
Well, the pharmacy called and cancelled my appointment because they didn't have the necessary dosage, so I didn't go to the pharmacy. I am still debating if I want to go in, tomorrow, just to take advantage of the coupon or let it go.
Thank you! I keep second guessing myself, about the shoe boxes, but, I think I made the right decision. I really don't need them! This is why I avoid going to yard sales and thrift shops! I always get a bunch of things I don't need! :)

  8. Haha - That Dancer - he is nothing if not entertaining isn't he?
That's really good that you were able to get a photo of him coming out of the tub.
Reading some of the comments, I see your flu appointment was cancelled. I'm wondering if you went in to spend your coupon ;)

    1. Dancer does his best to keep me entertained! :D
Yes, the appointment was cancelled and no, I didn't go in to redeem my coupon; I decided to stay home and forego the coupon.
