The Front Garden in March

The Front Garden in March

There is still a lot of bare ground where there used to be grass, but, the front garden is showing some signs of life after the rain.

Lantana

Euryops

Azure Bush Germander

Osteospermum

The Succulents Border

Bulbine

The Stumpery

One of the logs I had placed on the side seems to have partially decomposed.  I might rearrange one of the other logs over it.

And last, but, not least:

The First Rose of Spring

Thank you for visiting the front garden in March.  I hope you enjoyed your visit.  What's growing in your garden so far this spring?

  1. A perfect rose! It looks like the plants in the front garden are enjoying the rain you've had. You have so many things in bloom. We are enjoying spring blossoms here with crocus, daffodils, and forsythia.

    1. Thank you, June. The garden has enjoyed the rain and the cooler weather (notwithstanding that one day of heat). Spring is the best time for my garden. Your garden is beautiful with all your spring flowers in bloom.

  2. I particularly like the cheerful two colour flowers on the Lantana, and the stumpery is really well established now. The rose is spectacular. Does it have a perfume?

    1. Thank you, Bushlady. I, too, like the colors on the lantana and the stumpery is starting to look more like part of the landscape, doesn't it? The rose has a very faint fragrance to me, but, I really can't smell it (my sense of smell isn't very good; for example, I can't detect the smell of lavender or of durian fruit, which is supposed to have a very pungent scent).

We're still waiting for spring to arrive here, but rumour has it, it might happen this week :)

    1. Thank you, Celie. The lantana bushes were planted over 10 years go. I was hoping that they would grow to form a sort of hedge, but, a few died out and I didn't replace them. It might be something to attend to, this year.
