Raindrops on Nasturtium Leaves |
It rained practically all day on Wednesday. Not a very heavy rain in my area (although M said it was raining quite steadily about two miles west of me), but, a light rain which was good for the garden. M was unable to tend to the garden due to the rain, so, I told him to take a "rain check".
I had a fairly low key day, mostly due to a lack of sleep (I slept for about three hours on Tuesday night) and took a nap in the afternoon. I made more pancakes for brunch with batter leftover from Tuesday, (the rest of the day's meals were assorted leftovers), watched some online videos, caught up on a few blogs, and generally relaxed.
On Wednesday, I was grateful for:
- The blessing of rain for the garden
- A warm, dry home in which to shelter from the rain
- An afternoon nap
- Access to the internet
- Emails from friends
Wednesday's joyful activity was taking a nap!
There's more rain in the forecast for Thursday, too. Hope it won't cause mudslides and debris flows in the burn areas.
How was your Wednesday? What are your plans for Thursday?
Rainy days are good for naps and it sounds like you needed one. I hope last night was a better sleeping night for you.
ReplyDeleteRainy days seem to call for a nap, don't they? Yes, I had a much better night of sleep, last night, thank you. Almost 7 hours which is good. :)
DeleteYour nasturtiums are pretty, and growing! I'm sure your garden is grateful for the rain. I hope you have had a better night's sleep.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Celie. I am loving how that nasturtium plant has taken off! The garden is very thankful for the rain. It needs that good soaking every so often. I did have a better night of sleep, with almost 7 hours of sleep, thank you. :)
DeleteWe are having more rain, in fact it is predicted for two more days as well. The snow is shrinking and dripping off the roof, too.
ReplyDeleteSounds like spring is on its way over there! Maybe you'll start seeing spring bulbs sending up their green leaves through the melting snow, before long.
DeleteSometimes there is nothing more joyful than a nap, especially on a rainy day.
ReplyDeleteThat's what Dancer told me! He napped on the bigger sofa while I curled up on the love seat. :D
DeleteSorry you didn't get much sleep. It seems you either get quite a bit of rain or not enough!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sharon. I really need to work on a proper sleep schedule!
DeleteYes, to paraphrase a song, "It never rains in Southern California, but, when it does, it pours!" We had a sunny day, today, though.
A lovely, gentle day. And I'm sure your garden will have benefitted from the rain. Xx
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jules. Yes, the garden appreciated the rain. :)
DeleteI'm glad you were able to take it easy. 3 hours sleep will leave anyone feeling drained and tired and it's good you were able to nap in the afternoon.
ReplyDeleteYeah for rain!
Thank you, Debra. I've been "burning the candle at both ends" so to speak, lately. Really need to turn that around!
DeleteIt was lovely to get more rain, but, I think our rainy season is coming to an end, now.
Gentle rain always soaks deeper when heavy rain could just run off.
ReplyDeleteThat is very true, Lyssa. We might not get much more rain from now on though, as we move into the warmer month.
