Friday was a better day than Thursday.  I had felt light-headed most of Thursday afternoon and in the evening, I experienced some tummy discomfort, so, I didn't accomplish much other than making the jam in the morning and watering the front garden in the evening.

I was able to sleep in on Friday morning and actually managed to get 8 hours of sleep!    Of course, it meant that I slept most of the morning, but, that was OK.

Cousin P's daughter delivered the bag of groceries I had asked her to buy me - a loaf of bread, a dozen eggs, and some bananas.  She asked me if that was all I wanted and I said yes.  It will carry me through until I put in an order for pick up, next week, or the week after that.

In the afternoon, I cleaned the bathroom.  This week, I cleaned only my bathroom as no one had used the other bathroom.  Then, I did some paperwork and cleared the top of the family room coffee table.  One stack of papers was tackled and everything was either recycled or filed and the glass top of the coffee table was washed.  Dancer showed his approval by stretching out on the cleared top and taking a nap!  LOL.

M came to tend to the garden in the evening and we pruned one of the oleander bushes to remove some dead branches.  He also potted up an avocado seedling, fertilized some of the plants, and watered the back garden for me.

Brunch had been some chicken pot stickers and carrot sticks.  I had leftover tuna salad on crackers with my tea.  Dinner was the leftover fried rice, a banana, and, later, some bread with jam!

Today, I am grateful for:
- Cousin's daughter bringing me groceries
- M tending to the garden
- Long conversations with my daughter
- Garden flowers and fruits
- What I was able to accomplish

Today's joyful activity was chatting with my daughter.

Thursday's & Friday's To Do List:
- Paperwork/filing - DID SOME
- Clean the kitchen - STARTED
- Water the garden, front (and back) - DONE
- Clean the bathroom - DONE
- Do one deep cleaning task - DONE (living room coffee table)

Saturday's To Do List:
- Catch up day:
  - Paperwork/filing
  - Clean the kitchen
  - Practice the piano!  (I start lessons again, next week!)

How was your Friday?  What are your plans for Saturday and the weekend?

  1. You say you didn't accomplish much on Thursday except the jam making but that is a HUGE achievement. You should be giving yourself a pat on the back for dealing with the unexpected donation of fruit so promptly.

I'm glad to hear Dancer is continuing to take his supervisory role seriously and checked out your coffee table clearing abilities 😂

Good luck with the piano practice. How long is it since you last practiced regularly?

    1. Thank you, Eileen. I had to process the fruit right away; it wouldn't have lasted another day, even in the fridge!

I have been practicing the piano a couple of times a week, but, not every day. I taught myself a few of the easy pieces, too, that S had skipped over. But, I need to practice a little more seriously, now! :D

  2. Will you be able to eventually get fruit from your avocado plant? It's too cold for them here, but occasionally people grow them as house plants.

    1. Technically, I should be able to, but, I doubt it! I've grown other avocado seedlings and they've all died on me! They've either scorched during the summer heat or froze during a really cold spell one winter. I think, if I want to grow one for fruits, it would be better to buy a bigger plant from a nursery.

  3. I'm sure that Dancer was most appreciative of your efforts to clear the coffee table just for him. It is much the same as when you wash the bed sheets on their (I mean, your) bed. They appreciate the little things you do to make their lives more comfortable. And don't you feel good having made your way through that paperwork that has been languishing on the table waiting for your attention.

    1. Ha, ha, he's on the coffee table, as I write this, surveying the the room!

Yes, I'm glad I cleared the coffee table. There are three more paper stalagmites to deal goal is to go through at least one, today! :)

  4. Dancer takes inspecting your housekeeping very seriously:)

I'm glad you got a full night's sleep and are feeling better.

We are finally getting some rain and it's wonderful to sit inside and hear it lightly coming down.
    The plants are happy.

    1. Oh, he does, indeed! :D

      Thank you, Debra.

I'm glad you are getting some rain. I'm sure the garden plants are happy. According to the forecast, we are supposed to get some rain, ourselves, tomorrow, but, I believe it when I see it! Often, other parts of the city gets rain, but, not in my part of the city.

  5. I have a couple of avocados sprouted from store bought ones, still in 5 gallon buckets. I’ve read that grafted ones give fruits in 3-4 years while ungrafted seedlings could take about 10 years.

    1. Oh, I hope you'll get some avocados from your seedlings! I hope my seedling will grow, but, we shall see. :) One of my neighbors has a mango tree and I am thinking I want a mango tree, too! :D

  6. I hope you're feeling better, Bless. How thoughtful of Dancer to express his appreciation like that :) Mog has a tendency to stretch out on an unmade bed, making it twice as difficult to put the sheets back on again. X

    1. I'm fine, again, thank you, Jules. Yes, Dancer, too, likes to sleep on the bed, made or unmade doesn't make any difference to him! LOL.
