I did a load of laundry and hung it inside the house to dry, instead of using the dryer, because I felt confident enough that no fleas would jump on the items. However, later in the evening, when I washed my bed sheets, I dried them in the dryer.
It was another rather warm day, but the fans were sufficient. I spent the afternoon reading one of my library books, "The End of Ice" by Dahr Jamail:
Much later in the evening, I mopped the kitchen floor.
My joyful activity for the day was to make a bookmark with some scrapbooking paper to give to my friend as a thank you for lending me her book on the women in the Bible; I will be returning the book to her, tomorrow, at this month's rosary gathering.
Today, I am grateful for:
- Finding fewer fleas
- M helping me with the spraying
- Library books
- Washing machines and ceiling fans
- Video chatting with my daughter
Friday's To Do List:
- Buy more vacuum cleaner bags
- Mop the kitchen - DONE
- Water the garden - DONE
- Have M spray the garden - DONE

Saturday's To Do List:

How was your Friday? What are your plans for the weekend?
I've just Googled the book you're reading and think I may like it. Is it an easy read?ReplyDelete
I haven't been doing much even though it's cooler here now. I'm having an 'at home' weekend and making an effort to slow down and relax!
Yes, I think it's an easy read. I'm enjoying reading it. I think you'll enjoy it, too.Delete
I'm glad to hear you are having a relaxing weekend. Enjoy! :)
Let's hope all of the spraying will be the final death for the fleas. But the little buggers are persistent and you have to stay on top of them for a while. Good luck.ReplyDelete
Yes, I have to be vigilant and keep up with the vacuuming and laundry - just to be sure there are no more eggs to hatch, etc. I am just a little tired and overwhelmed by it, but, determined to keep up.Delete
Hope you are feeling better now☺ReplyDelete
I am, thank you, Natalia. :)Delete
It's great you're getting on top of the flea issue but please be careful with the spraying.ReplyDelete
It's grey and rainy here today, so we've been to soft play this morning and going to attempt to do some sewing this afternoon. X
Yes; I normally don't spray a lot of chemicals around the house, so the fumes probably got to me. But, I don't think I'll need to spray again for at least the next few days.Delete
Sounds like a good way to spend a rainy day. What are you planning to sew?
That's good news about the fleas. I can see why you had a headache. I'm glad to hear it's wearing off. I've been enjoying the weather and have been reading an excellent library book. I just cooked some lamb shanks and baked potatoes. I like to get my cooking done early in the morning, so the house isn't too hot.ReplyDelete
I didn't see any fleas this morning, so I am hopeful! I'll be glad when this is over!Delete
You are very wise to do the cooking early in the morning, while it is relatively cool. I should try to do that - provided I can wake up early enough! Lamb shanks and baked potatoes sound delicious. Enjoy!
Well, you and your gardener have done good battle against those wretched fleas and I hope there will be an end to them very soon now that things are looking good.ReplyDelete
Our little bat must have flown out of the patio umbrella at dusk as expected, since I saw no sign of him when I checked with the deck light on later. Thank goodness he didn't return and we were able to use the table and umbrella today. We didn't fancy eating there yesterday with a bat over our food!
We tried our best, Bushlady, and it seems to be working! :)Delete
Well, I'm glad your little bat flew away and left you free to eat out on the patio, under the umbrella, without it hanging over you! :)
I hope you are feeling better now.ReplyDelete
Where does Dancer get fleas? Does he hang out outside?
I'm fine, now, Nil, thank you. Dancer is an indoor cat. The fleas are coming into the house from outside! The stray/feral cats in the garden have fleas and I am sure the possums that hang around my yard have them, too.Delete
Again I will state for the record, I hate fleas. Be sure to change the vacuum bags each time you use it. The flea eggs that are vacuumed up can hatch in the bag.ReplyDelete
It's been noted in the record, Anne! :D Yes, I'm tossing the vacuum cleaner bags after each use!Delete
Fleas are really bad this year for everyone. PS the best for headaches is BC powder.ReplyDelete
I hope your cats don't get them, Akasha; they are a pain to get rid of! I had to look up BC powder, because I'm not familiar with it! I generally try not to take anything for headaches unless they are really bad and then, I take a Tylenol. But, I'll keep BC powder in mind and look for it, the next time I'm at a pharmacy. :)Delete
