Relaxed Sunday

I slept in until quite late, this morning!  My neighbor's weekly Sunday morning phone call woke me up!  I won't have the luxury of sleeping in until quite so late once I start my radiation treatments, next week.

I spent a leisurely rest of the morning, watching cooking shows on TV, going on-line, etc.  I had toast with a scrambled egg for brunch.  Some cherries for dessert.

Later in the afternoon, I dozed on the sofa!

After I got up from my nap, I did my decluttering for the day:

July 3 Decluttering
3 cross-stitch books.  I used to do a lot of cross-stitch, but not so much anymore.  My daughter does cross-stitch, but she's not interested in the designs in these books.  Time to release them.  We have a new verse to the decluttering song:

On the third day of July, Bless did declutter,
three books on cross-stitch, (two painted boxes, and a sewing machine with a broken bobbin).

Later, I tidied the table in the family room and did some paperwork.  Then, watered the backyard.

Dinner was leftover spaghetti with meat sauce.  I didn't take a photo.  But I took a photo of the snack I had later in the night:

Apple and Peanut Butter
Apple slices with peanut butter.  The apple tasted good to me; the peanut butter was so-so.  But I ate it because I need the protein.

Today, I am grateful for:

- Being able to sleep in and afternoon naps.
- Caring friends who worry if I am taking adequate care of myself.
- A cooler day.
- Phone call from aunt and texts from cousin.
- Video chatting with daughter.

I haven't planned anything special for tomorrow.  I want to do some paperwork and filing, tidy the family room coffee table, sort through the small book case in the 3rd bedroom, water the indoor plants and maybe the front garden, take the trash cans to the curb, etc.

Hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow.

  1. I love your declutter song. Have you seen the joke version where it starts off all loving (thank you for such a romantic gift) and ends up with a restraining order? seriously, well done! x

    1. No, I haven't seen that particular version of the song! I am thinking it will get harder to write new verses once I move on to the bigger numbers because I won't have neat sets of similar items, then.

  2. It's good that you take care of yourself and eat well. The weather has not been good here today so I have used my time completing the little housework jobs that often get overlooked and sorting the recycling. X

    1. Good use of your time to attend to housework when the weather is not so good. I'd have been tempted to sit in front of the TV or take a nap (or both!)

  3. Your body obviously needed the rest. I'm glad you were able to indulge it :)

Your song is going to be quite lengthy by the end of the month, lol.

I hope you're having a good 4th of July, Bless, and that those back neighbors of yours are quiet tonight (as I'm hoping mine are!).

    1. I've been going to sleep rather late, which is probably why I've been sleeping in. I'll have to start going to sleep earlier now, because I need to wake up at a set time every day from tomorrow, to get to the clinic for my radiation treatment on time.

Yes, well, I don't know how well I can continue with the song when I get to the higher numbers and won't have enough of similar items to make a set.

Various neighbors have been setting off fireworks since June! Even though fireworks are illegal in my city! But I don't anticipate any parties with loud music. :)

Hope you are having a lovely Fourth, Nathalie.
