My daughter flew back to Berkeley, this afternoon. I gave her one of the banana breads I had baked earlier and frozen, to take back with her.
After I dropped daughter off at the airport, I put gas to the car ($2.89/gallon; I put for $30) and drove to the monthly prayer meeting. This is the first time I've attended a monthly prayer meeting since November of last year. I took another loaf of banana bread as my contribution to the prayer meeting lunch, and a jar of tomato chutney for the aunt who was hosting the prayer meeting. I met several family members and friends at the prayer gathering, which was nice. Driving back home, afterwards, I could see smoke from at least two of the brush fires in our area.
I got home around 5:30 p.m. and took a nap! I woke up once when daughter called at 6:30 p.m. - she had got back to her apartment, gone grocery shopping, and come back! I went back to sleep after I spoke with her and slept until 8:30 p.m.!
Today's decluttering was 23 items for July 23:
July 23 Decluttering |
10 items of clothing; all had been given to me; I've had them for at least one year and I wore one item once. Time to let them go.
1 broken clothes hanger, 1 food container, 1 jar.
Today, I am grateful for:
- Daughter had a safe flight back to Berkeley.
- I was able to attend the monthly prayer meeting, again.
- A safe drive to the prayer meeting and back.
- A long, evening nap.
- Cooling off at night.
All in all, it has been a lovely weekend. But it is back to radiation treatments and work, again, tomorrow.
Monday's To Do List:
- Office work
- Radiation treatment
- Clean the fridge
- Empty waste baskets
- Take trash cans to the curb
- Water the garden
- Address and mail a thank you card
How was your Sunday? What have you planned for Monday?
I'm glad you had a good weekend and was able to attend the prayer meeting. My Sunday was a mixed bag. Had lots of good and bad in it.
ReplyDelete(((HUGS))) Focus on the good, and try not to dwell on the bad. Hope Bubby is feeling better.
DeleteYour decluttering is still going strong I see. Can't believe it's 23 days since I was reading about your new challenge. Where does time fly.
ReplyDeleteMark filled our cars up this morning. We pay £4.90 for a gallon over here. I've just converted and that's over $6, so we pay twice as much as you have to. My car only takes £25 worth as it's so tiny but Mark's takes £80! xx
Your gallon is slighter bigger than ours, but still, that's a big difference in price! Although, a few years ago, we were paying over $5 for gas. Of course, that was when I was driving 60 miles a day, taking my daughter to university and going to work. I used to budget $400 per month for gas, back then.
DeleteWhen will you be going back to work at your workplace? In a couple of weeks? You might want to allow sufficient time to ease yourself back onto your normal sleeping schedule.
ReplyDeleteYes, I'll be going back to work after the radiation treatment is over. Will definitely have to get back to a more reasonable sleep schedule, although, before all this happened, my normal sleep schedule used to be 1:30 a.m. to 6-6:30 a.m.
DeleteI am so glad you managed to get to a prayer meeting! You are sounding stronger, I hope that you are feeling it x
ReplyDeleteYes, I am feeling stronger, thank you. The radiation treatment isn't as bad as the chemo was and I am getting better, every day.
DeleteHow was your radiation treatment today? Is the redness that you discovered on Friday getting a little worse? I hope the aloe lotion is helping, lather it on!
ReplyDeleteThe advice to try to go back on a more regular sleeping schedule to ease back into your office work schedule is a good one, but listen to your body and don't feel guilty about taking a quick nap either. I've read that usually a 20 minute nap is all that's needed to feel refreshed.
Today's treatment went well, thank you. The redness seems to have lessened over the weekend. I've been applying the lotion, every day.
DeleteI am pretty sure I'll be able to get back to a regular sleep schedule when it's time to go back to the office. I'll probably ease back into it, anyway.
It's wonderful that you'll be getting back to your routine of going to the office each day. Although you didn't miss a beat working from home. Dancer will surely miss having you home. :)
ReplyDeleteCarolyn, yes, I'm looking forward to being in a nice, air conditioned office! :D
DeleteSo glad you were able to attend the prayer meeting. It must feel so good not to be confined from mixing with people. You are on the way to normal!
ReplyDeleteBushlady
It was, Bushlady, and I am! :) I even went to the office, yesterday and today!
