Productive Friday

Today was a productive day.  I was up and out of the house by 7:30 a.m. to get to my hydration appointment by 8:30 a.m.  My appointment was not until 9:00 a.m., but I was hoping to be seen early, as I was worried I'd be done with hydration early enough not to be late for my radiation treatment (I had tried to reschedule the hydration appointment for the afternoon, after the radiation, but hadn't been able to do so).  I was called in and had my pressure checked and weighed (I've lost another 2 lbs.) shortly after I arrived, but I had to wait until after 9:30 a.m. to see the nurse practitioner.  The visit with the nurse practitioner didn't take long and I was receiving my hydration before 10:00 a.m.

I finished with the hydration a little after 11:00 a.m.  I had plenty of time to drive over to the radiation treatment. I was there a few minutes early and had my treatment on time. I was all done by 11:45 a.m. and home again by 12:30 p.m. Had lunch (rice, beef curry, cucumber salad) and then, started work. I worked all afternoon and the early part of the evening,  with a short break to chat with my gardener when he came to do the garden.

I had a slight headache most of the morning, but it went away in the afternoon.

Later in the evening, I went for a walk, had a chat with one of my aunts, video chatted with daughter, wrote to a friend, etc.

I didn't finish my decluttering, today, so I will finish it tomorrow.

Today, I am grateful for:

- Managing to make it to my appointments on time.
- Friendly staff at both clinics.
- Safe drives to the clinics and back.
- Phone call from aunt.
- A productive day.

Plans for tomorrow include doing some housework, laundry, and a possible visit from aunt and cousin.

How was your Friday?  What are your plans for the weekend?

  1. Hello Bless! I'm glad you were able to make both appointments without any problems and that you seem to be in great shape and spirits.

I did nothing today but read and watch some TV shows. As a matter of fact I stayed in my PJs all day. It felt quite decadent!

Tomorrow my youngest son and I will be driving to St Augustine, FL, a couple of hours away from here, to watch Flight of the Conchords in concert. My plan had been to go there with Middle Son but he picked up a shift at Universal Studios and can no longer attend. I am quite cross with him since I bought the tickets for the both of us several months ago. So I'm forcing Youngest Son to come along. He has never watched their show so he is not familiar with them at all (if you don't know of them, they're from New Zealand and had a very funny comedy show on TV entitled "Flight of the Conchords") an doesn't know their songs (I'm expecting a lot of the songs at the concert to be from the show) and has no interest in watching even just one episode before the concert. So he'll be pouting the whole way, I'm sure. Oh joy. I'm quite excited about it myself, though, I love them.

Then on Monday I get to have dinner with Oldest Son's girlfriend so we can try to get to know each other a little better, and then we'll attend Oldest Son's jazz concert. He'll be playing with the Orlando Jazz Orchestra that night. I can't wait for that either!

I hope you have a good weekend as well and that perhaps you get some rain for your garden!

    1. Sounds like you had a nice, relaxed day, today. You deserve that, especially after all the work you did yesterday.

Sounds like you've got a couple of fun evenings planned to tomorrow and Monday. I'm afraid I haven't heard of Flight of the Conchords and I'm sorry Middle Son is not able to attend the concert with you. I hope Youngest Son won't pout too much and he'll find himself enjoying the concert, after all.

Hope you enjoy dinner with Oldest Son's girlfriend and the jazz concert, afterwards.

No rain in the forecast here. Not for the next 15 days, anyway. The forecast says sun and triple digits next week. :)
