Another Warm Day

It was already 90F when I left to go to the clinic at 10:30 a.m. and 102F when I came back home at 12:30 p.m.

The radiation treatment went well, as usual.

On the way back, daughter and I picked up some Thai food for lunch: beef fried rice and chicken satay with peanut sauce.  I am starting to taste food again, so I enjoyed my lunch.

Spent the afternoon working until the heat made me feel tired and sleepy.  Then, I went to the bedroom, put on the a/c, called daughter into the room so she'd be cool (she, too, was working from home), and took a nap!  After I woke up from the nap, I did more office work, until much later in the evening.

Unfortunately, I didn't finish my decluttering for today.  So that needs to be done tomorrow, instead.  Along with tomorrow's items!

Today, I am grateful for:
- Air conditioning in the bedroom!
- Fans.
- Radiation treatments continuing to go well.
- Beginning to taste my food again.
- Daughter's company.

How was your Thursday?

  1. I'm glad you are starting to be able to taste food again. I'm sure that is great. Stay cool! It's supposed to be around 100 here the next few days. I don't handle heat well and Bubby doesn't understand why he can't go out.

  2. We are currently in the low eighties here according to the thermostat on the landing, and I am fading fast! I couldn't manage your weather. I'm glad you are tasting food again. x

    1. Lyssa, that's quite hot for you, isn't it? Take it easy and stay cool! I must now be careful not to overeat just because I can taste stuff!

  3. I'm glad you're able to enjoy food once more!

I hope it doesn't get too hot today and that you're able to stay cool. How is Dancer handling the heat?

You haven't talked about his hairballs recently. Does that new food work as expected, then?

    Good luck with the decluttering.

    1. Thanks, Nathalie. The downside to being able to taste food again is wanting to eat more! :D

Dancer is shedding like crazy in the heat. We've had a couple of hairball incidents, but not as many as one might expect, given how much he's shedding. So, I think the new food is helping.

The decluttering is getting harder! But I've a long way to go.

Hope all is well with you, today. Take it one day at a time.

  4. Hi Bless! I'm so glad you have a cool place to retreat to in that heat and that your radiation treatment went well. Don't worry about the decluttering...it will be there tomorrow for you. :)

    1. Thanks, Debbie. It is a blessing to have an air conditioned room.

The decluttering is getting harder as the "keeper" in me wants to hold on to what's left! But I'll get there, eventually. :)

  5. We had a hot day, too, but a late afternoon storm blew through and cooled everything down as well as watering the garden. I was so glad I had cycled to the mailbox earlier before the rain, then I remembered that I hadn't taken in the bit of washing that I had hung on the line! Oh well, an extra rinse doesn't hurt.

    1. Bushlady, how nice to have received the cooling rain, even if it meant the wash getting an extra rinse! They do say that rainwater makes the best rinse, because it is soft water. :)

Hope you have a lovely, comfortably cool weekend.

    1. The a/c has been a blessing. It is much cooler up in Berkeley and daughter has got used to the cooler temps. It was 58F up there on Wed. morning, with a daytime high of 65F and over 90F when she arrived at the airport down here! So, she's feeling the heat more than she used to.

Hope you have a blessed weekend, too.
