Saturday's Update and June Grocery Shopping Week 1

Oops!  I didn't get around to posting the update for Saturday until now (1:00 a.m. on Sunday morning!)

I never did knit on Saturday afternoon.  Instead, daughter and I went out to run a couple of errands.  I drove, but stayed in the car while she went to the pharmacy to pick up my medication refills and to the grocery store for a few items.  I neglected to take a picture of what she bought, but she bought:

1 container half and half = $1.79
1 loaf of bread = $1.88
bananas @ $.69/lb = $1.07
grapes @ $.99/lb = $2.05

Total = $6.79

I have finally been given the OK to eat grapes and other fresh fruits that can't be peeled!  Yay!  I love grapes and I haven't been able to eat them for over 7 months!  The bread is for her to take back with her, so she'll be able to make a sandwich for her lunch for Monday (she won't have time to go grocery shopping when she gets to Berkeley on Sunday evening).

Earlier on Thursday, before she left Berkeley, she bought me a loaf of bread, a multi grain batard, that she wanted me to try:

I gave her the money for it and I will add the $2.99 for the bread she bought on Thursday to Saturday's grocery total:

Total spent on groceries so far in June = $6.79 + $2.99 = $9.78

It was 64F and drizzly when we went to do our errands on Saturday afternoon!

On the way home, we picked up some French fries and two soft serve ice cream cones from a fast food place!  Spent $4.59.

Later in the evening, I baked some banana bread with the over-ripe bananas I had left from the last time we bought bananas.  And while I had the oven on, I also baked two of the stuffed potatoes that came with the frozen steaks my supervisor had sent and cooked two of the steaks for our dinner.  I couldn't finish my portion of the steak and potato, so that will be my dinner on Sunday, along with a salad.

Saturday's decluttering was from my closet: 10 items of clothing.

June 11 Decluttering

They are mostly items that were given to me when a relative went through her closet.  I didn't wear them enough, for one reason or another, to continue to keep them.  All will all be donated.

Saturday, I was grateful for:

- Being able to eat grapes, and other fresh fruits which can't be peeled, again!
- A little bit of drizzle.
- Soft serve ice cream cones.
- Phone call from an aunt.
- No co-pay for my medication refills because I've exceeded my deductible for the year!

Saturday's spending log:
$9.78 for groceries
$4.59 for fast food

Well, it is 2:00 a.m. on Sunday.  Time to say my nightly prayers and think about going to bed!

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday.

  1. so happy you are able to eat grapes again.. I love them too.
We have been 95 degrees..[I think you and I have changed places.hahaha] Today we got a rain, so it has cooled things off a little. The garden really needed it.
Congrats on the decluttering.. Every time you do it. you are helping that area.. I decluttered a bag of clothes we no longer wear.. I could really tell the extra space in the closet
    Have a blessed Sunday.

    1. 95 is hot! So glad you got some rain, though.

Glad that you were able to declutter a bag of clothes, too. My daughter, too, went through her closet and set aside two bags of clothes to donate.

Hope you are having a wonderful day, Judy.
