Rain on Monday

First of all, thank you for all the lovely, kind comments on yesterday's post.

It rained early in the morning, today!  What a blessing!  It had rained quite hard in some areas resulting in downed trees and power outages.  But no such problems in my area.  I slept through most of it - I remember waking up once, around 5:00 a.m. and hearing the rain, but I went back to sleep.  The rain had ceased by the time I woke up, around 8:00 a.m.  The garden got a good watering.  In addition, there's more rain in the forecast for the end of this week!

I spent some time working on office related work, today.  I received another portion of my assignment, so I have plenty of work for the rest of this week.  I also tidied and dusted the living room and the dining area and took out the trash cans.  Tomorrow, I plan to tidy the family room.

In the afternoon, I dropped daughter off at the airport.  I will see her again in two weeks when she comes home for spring break.

I spent the evening sewing on my quilt and knitting.  Also in the evening, I had phone calls from a friend and from an aunt.

Today, I am grateful for:

- More rain!
- No rain damage in my area.
- Daughter had a safe flight back to Berkeley
- The living room and dining area are clean and tidy
- Phone calls from family and friends

Hope you all had a good Monday and a good start to your week.

    1. Thank you, Jess. It means my garden got watered naturally and I don't have to spend money to water the garden this week! And, if it rains at the weekend, as forecasted, I might not have to water the garden next week, either!

    1. Thank you, Judy. More rain in the forecast for the weekend and early next week, so it looks like the garden is going to be well watered!

  3. So glad you got the rain and I bet you enjoyed listening to it as you lay in bed! We didn't get rain, which was good for us. The temperature went up to +10C and people out and about were very happy with the mild weather and sunshine. The snow is melting nicely without a lot of puddles. We picked up a 50lb bag of black oil sunflower seeds today as we have a lot of purple finches and pine siskins emptying our feeder at a rapid rate. The chickadees and nuthatches manage to get a look in after the others are finished!

    1. Bushlady, that is so nice of you to feed all the birds! I have set up a make-shift bird feeder in my front porch (an old plastic cup tied to the trellis) for the pair of birds that are nesting in the porch light. I used to feed more birds (just by scattering the seed on the ground), but don't do that anymore due to the stray cats who call my garden their home (it's a long story; I'm guilty of feeding them!)
