Today was a clear, sunny, warm (low 70's) day, after yesterday's clouds and rain. I went out into the garden in the morning and picked some flowers, including the rose pictured above. I also picked some lemons for the fruit bowl I keep on the dining table.
I had a quietly productive day, today. I paid a bill, scheduled the next delivery of my anti-nausea medication in time for my next chemo session, did some office work, cleaned daughter's bathroom, and sewed on the quilt (9 more flowers to go!).
I
also called to confirm the appointment for tomorrow's wig fitting. A
good thing I did, because the lady who was supposed to have made the
appointment for me hadn't done so! Apparently she is no longer working
there, either! The lady I spoke with said there was someone else scheduled at
the time slot I was supposed to have received, but she could fit me in
earlier, at 10:00 a.m., instead of 11:00 a.m. So I said that was fine.
She asked me about my hair and seemed surprised that I had been told I needed to shave my head
in order to be fitted for the wig! Maybe I didn't have to shave? Oh,
well, it is done now and I am OK with it.
Gift of Fabric |
A
couple of days ago, one of my friends asked me if I'd like the
leftover fabric from some of her projects. Of course I have my own
stash of fabrics, but I couldn't turn down an offer of free fabric, could I? So I
said I'd love to have her stash and today, she brought me two bags of
fabric and a packet of bias binding. They are mostly the heavier, upholstery/home decor type fabric,
but that's OK. They will make good cushion covers, table runners, placemats, tote bags, etc. I look forward to making some projects using this fabric.
I plan to spend the rest of the evening knitting and video chatting with daughter.
Today, I am grateful for:
- The sunny day
- A beautiful rose
- Lemons from my tree
- A gift of fabric from my friend
- A productive, balanced day
How was your day?
How nice of your friend to give you the fabric. My day was good. We are having temperatures in the 70s this week and I love it!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the warmer temperatures!
DeleteYour rose is so pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to have received a stack of fabric pieces! I'm glad you didn't turn that down because they are very nice and I know, with your talent and sewing abilities, you will make great use of them.
Have fun at your fitting today!
Thank you, Dawn. I am thinking I can use some of the fabric to make this year's holiday gifts!
DeleteHope you have a great day with your wig fitting. Proud you called to check on the appointment..
ReplyDeleteThe rose is beautiful..
So nice to receive the free fabric. We can NEVER turn down fabric.ha
Judy, I knew you'd understand about the fabric! I have my own stash, but I just couldn't say no to free fabric! :D
DeleteOoh yes, a welcome addition to the fabric stash!
ReplyDeleteYes! I'm still making my way through that stash! Most recently, I used some of it to cover some boxes that I am using to store things on a couple of shelves.
