Today was a clear, sunny, warm (low 70's) day, after yesterday's clouds and rain. I went out into the garden in the morning and picked some flowers, including the rose pictured above. I also picked some lemons for the fruit bowl I keep on the dining table.
I had a quietly productive day, today. I paid a bill, scheduled the next delivery of my anti-nausea medication in time for my next chemo session, did some office work, cleaned daughter's bathroom, and sewed on the quilt (9 more flowers to go!).
I also called to confirm the appointment for tomorrow's wig fitting. A good thing I did, because the lady who was supposed to have made the appointment for me hadn't done so! Apparently she is no longer working there, either! The lady I spoke with said there was someone else scheduled at the time slot I was supposed to have received, but she could fit me in earlier, at 10:00 a.m., instead of 11:00 a.m. So I said that was fine. She asked me about my hair and seemed surprised that I had been told I needed to shave my head in order to be fitted for the wig! Maybe I didn't have to shave? Oh, well, it is done now and I am OK with it.
|Gift of Fabric|
A couple of days ago, one of my friends asked me if I'd like the leftover fabric from some of her projects. Of course I have my own stash of fabrics, but I couldn't turn down an offer of free fabric, could I? So I said I'd love to have her stash and today, she brought me two bags of fabric and a packet of bias binding. They are mostly the heavier, upholstery/home decor type fabric, but that's OK. They will make good cushion covers, table runners, placemats, tote bags, etc. I look forward to making some projects using this fabric.
I plan to spend the rest of the evening knitting and video chatting with daughter.
Today, I am grateful for:
- The sunny day
- A beautiful rose
- Lemons from my tree
- A gift of fabric from my friend
- A productive, balanced day
How was your day?
How nice of your friend to give you the fabric. My day was good. We are having temperatures in the 70s this week and I love it!ReplyDelete
Enjoy the warmer temperatures!Delete
Your rose is so pretty! :)ReplyDelete
What fun to have received a stack of fabric pieces! I'm glad you didn't turn that down because they are very nice and I know, with your talent and sewing abilities, you will make great use of them.
Have fun at your fitting today!
Thank you, Dawn. I am thinking I can use some of the fabric to make this year's holiday gifts!Delete
Hope you have a great day with your wig fitting. Proud you called to check on the appointment..ReplyDelete

Judy, I knew you'd understand about the fabric! I have my own stash, but I just couldn't say no to free fabric! :DDelete
Ooh yes, a welcome addition to the fabric stash!ReplyDelete
Yes! I'm still making my way through that stash! Most recently, I used some of it to cover some boxes that I am using to store things on a couple of shelves.Delete
