Sunday with Daughter

Sunday has gone by in a blur!

We slept in and had a relaxed morning.  Then, daughter worked on her homework while I played on the computer.

In the early afternoon, I did a bit of cooking:

Brussels Sprouts

Broccoli
Lunch was rice, corn on the cob, Brussels sprouts, broccoli and chicken curry.

Daughter vacuumed and did her laundry in the afternoon.  Her apartment comes with a washer and dryer, which makes it very convenient for her to do her laundry.  However, today, her dryer kept shutting itself off every 5-10 minutes and the laundry was not drying!  I hung the clothes up to dry while she put in a service request.  Hopefully, maintenance will attend to the dryer tomorrow.

In the evening, we walked to the Indian store and bought a few goodies: specialty cookies, a package of chili powder, a packet of tea, and some of my favorite sweets - called jalebi - which is a crispy fried batter soaked in syrup.

After we came back to the apartment, I cooked a bit more:

Sauted Spicy Beef
Daughter had asked if I would make this dish as it is one of her favorite dishes.  Sauted spicy beef.  I made enough for her to have some now and some to freeze for later.  Now she won't have to worry about cooking during her finals week.

And all too soon, the weekend has come to an end.  Tomorrow morning, I will drop daughter off on campus and set off on my drive home.  Neither of us wants the weekend visit to end, but all good things must come to an end, unfortunately.

Hope you had a lovely Sunday with your loved ones.
