Recovering on Thursday

Last night, I went to sleep at 10:00 p.m.!  Imagine that!  I woke up once at just before 1:00 a.m. and daughter (who was still up) brought me a drink of water.  Then, I went back to sleep and woke up at 5:30 a.m. and had another sip of water.  Then, I slept again until 9:00 a.m.!  I slept for 11 hours!

Today, I'm feeling OK, just a bit tired and my throat is still a little sore.  I had a cup of tea in the morning, some leftover rice and curries for brunch and ate a cup of gelatin for dessert.  Cousin P called to check on me and aunt C.  Also, there was a very sweet email from my former supervisor, reassuring me about the procedure and wishing me well.

Daughter worked from home, today, and I read blogs and commented on them.  In the afternoon, I took another nap!   I finished reading my library book, which is due tomorrow, but I renewed it online so I could return it next week, just in case I don't feel like driving to the library, to return it, tomorrow. I also did a little knitting (another hat for the Heart Association).

Today, I am grateful for:
- A long, restful night of sleep!
- Feeling OK
- Afternoon naps
- Being able to take it easy
- All the kind concern and well wishes from everyone

I am not doing a to do list for tomorrow, either.  Just going to take it easy and relax.  Maybe, just maybe, do a load of laundry and some paperwork, if I feel like it.

How was your day?  What have you planned for Friday?

  1. I'm glad you were able to sleep so much. I think your body definitely needed it. Take it easy as long as you need and continue to listen to your body.

    1. Thank you, Live and Learn. I haven't noticed any unwelcome visitors in the house for several days now, which makes it easier to relax a bit and take it easy. :)

  2. Obviously, your body required that extra sleep, and I am so glad that you were able to get it. A few days of relaxation and maybe a little crafting is just what you need right now. Enjoy this time with your daughter at home.

    1. Well, I'm glad I was able to sleep so much on Wednesday night and nap, yesterday. Because, last night, my body said I've had all the sleep I needed and, although I went to bed at 2:00 a.m., I didn't fall asleep until almost 5:00 a.m. and slept till 10:30 a.m.

I have plans to make a birthday card, today (need it for tomorrow). I'll see what else I feel up to doing.

      How are you feeling?

  4. I'm glad you managed to get a good sleep after your procedure. It is good that you have this all behind you now and can enjoy your daughter's visit. Even when she has to work from home, she is still there!
It is great when one can renew a library book without leaving the house. I used to use the library a lot, but for a year or two I have been buying used books (usually donating them later) and I sometimes find such interesting ones. For example, I have one all about wild flowers in western Canada, and each flower has some history and lore attached to it. It is really delightful and I'm keeping it to read again some day, looking up specific plants.

    1. Thank you, Bushlady; yes, it's nice to have daughter home, even if she's working.

I had to stop buying books, even used books, because it never occurred to me to donate them again, after reading! Such a good idea! Our library has a used book sale, every Tuesday (during the same time as the knitting group meeting); $.25 for paperbacks and $.50 for hardcovers. I could buy some to read and donate them back! Your wildflower book sounds like a wonderful find!

  5. It must have been a surprise for you to have been asleep at such an 'early' hour. It must be the body's way of recovering. I hope you feel well rested. X
