Fall Arrives on Monday

It was quite overcast all day, on Monday.  Not too cold as the high was in the 70s, but it looked cold because it was so cloudy.  One of my friends said it drizzled a bit early in the morning in her area, but I didn't notice any rain in my area.

I had a productive day.  I went to the office, I made a couple of phone calls pertaining to the insurance paperwork, I paid a couple of bills, I went to the post office to buy a stamp and mail one of the bills and to the bank to pay the other bill (both post office and bank are within walking distance), did more paperwork when I came home (one pile done and a whole grocery bag of paper to be recycled), cleaned out my purse (why is it that I have 5 pens in my purse and can't find one when I need a pen?), took the trash cans to the curb, cleaned the litter box, put away the dried laundry, decluttered several magazines, and watched some TV.  My friend R called and we had a nice chat.  Later, I video chatted with my daughter.

I took care to dress warmly, today - long sleeved knit top, a short sleeved knitted tunic over that, a cardigan, a scarf, and I took a jacket, too, just in case.  But, for some reason, the venting had been turned down and for once, I felt warm in the office.  I didn't need the cardigan and my hands weren't icy cold!  I hope it continues to be like that, but, most probably, the vent will be on, tomorrow!

  1. Is there any chance that you could move locations in your office? Is there someone who's always hot that would like to trade? Or next time someone leaves, could you move into their spot? Being cold day after day (except today), is no fun.

    1. Good suggestion, but, right now, since we are planning to move to a different building, I don't think they will let me exchange cubicles with someone (it involves moving our computers with us, etc.) I am just going to buy a small space heater for now and see how that works. Just have to go shopping!

  2. Congrats on the paperwork - did you know that you can buy a sheet of stamps at CVS - I find this more convenient than going to the post office.

Do hope the move of your office is soon and a little more comfortable to work in. In the meantime a small heater would work.

Tuesday is grocery shopping day for me. Hubby requested grapes and strawberries in place of his usual oranges. He said the last bag were not very juicy. You never really know what you are getting. I got in a few more items for my son and his three lads who will be flying in a week from Thursday.

    1. Sandy, I do have stamps, but I had left them at home. I usually keep a book of stamps inside the cover of my checkbook, but I had taken it out for some reason...In any case, the post office is located in the basement of the building across the street from my office (there is a mini-mall in the basement, with CVS, the post office, a dry cleaners, several restaurants, etc.; there used to be a book store and a card shop, too, but they left). I am going to miss all these conveniences when we move to the other building.

Sorry to hear the oranges weren't juicy. It is very difficult to tell how good some of these fruits are when one goes to buy them. Hope the grapes and strawberries are better. I'm sure you are looking forward to the visit from your son and grandsons. They are definitely going to enjoy all the goodies you are laying in stock for them! Have a blessed day, Sandy.

  3. Isn't it ironic that the vent would not be blasting cold air on a day when you are dressed for the Arctic? ❄️😊

I know where there are a lot of pens - in a zippered organizer bag in my carry-on case that I only use two or three times a year at the most! I have no idea why there are 4 or 5 in there, probably because I wouldn't like to be without a pen on a trip. At least I know I can go to my secret hoard if DH hides the ones that are around the house. Pens have a habit of disappearing!

    1. It's how things often turn out, isn't it? You prepare for one thing and it will be something else. At least, I could peel off a layer or two, as needed. My former supervisor used to keep a portable wardrobe in her cubicle (larger than mine) with several jackets. I think I might start keeping an extra cardigan and scarf on the coat rack I keep in my cubicle.

Good idea to have a few pens tucked in your carry-on case. Do you have a little notebook tucked in with your pens?

    2. Yes, I do have to have a notepad at least with me. I also have a small notebook in my purse and a pen or two!

  4. Hi my friend...I always had a sweater with me when I worked because the school I worked in would be boiling hot at one end and freezing cold at the other end. I sometimes would be changing classrooms, filling in for multiple people all in one day's time.

    1. Hi Debbie, yes, I always have a sweater or jacket with me, even in the summer. Also, I am aware that I feel cold when others are comfortable or even hot! Not everyone is a tropical flower! :D
