Monday

Monday has been partly cloudy and rather cool.

It was another fairly relaxed day.  I accomplished most of the items on my to do list - dusted the living room and dining area, did two loads of laundry, took the trash cans to the curb, did some weeding in the back garden, watered the newly transplanted zucchini seedlings, and watered the indoor plants, as well.

The pharmacy texted to say that the doctor didn't authorize one of my medication refills, so I called them to find out what was going on - as I suspected, they sent the request to the wrong doctor - the one I haven't seen in over three years!  They have the current doctor's information on their system because I've given them the information, but, we keep having this problem.  However, they said they will send the request for a refill to the newer doctor.

I haven't been meal planning, lately, but, today, I cooked a mackerel curry, sauteed zucchini, and a cashew curry to have with rice for lunch, and coconut flat bread and chicken curry for dinner.  There are leftovers for tomorrow's meals.  I haven't quite decided what to make for Wednesday - maybe curry puffs or stir-fried noodles.  I'll be making some soup for later in the week.  And that's the extent of my meal planning for the week!

I practiced the piano in the evening, watched news, and a program on TV.  Chatted with friend R, too.

Today, I'm grateful for:

- Working appliances
- Electricity to run the appliances
- Garden flowers
- Water for the garden
- Relaxed days

Today's joyful activity was spending the day relaxing at home.

Plans for Tuesday include my piano lesson and tidying/dusting the family room.

How was your Monday?  What are your plans for Tuesday?

  1. How frustrating that the drugstore made that mistake on your renewal prescription. I wonder why they cannot delete the previous Dr's info? When I meal plan, I use a pre-made menu plan sheet but I try to make it flexible enough that I can switch meals around; these pre-made sheets are so pretty so that I encourage myself to plan. My plans for today should include dusting ... we'll see (lol).

    1. The pharmacy keeps making this same mistake, over and over again. I suppose, eventually, they will update their records, but, it seems to depend on whoever puts the order through! However, I am very grateful that they do the automatic refills for me and do free delivery (that has been so helpful during this past year!). I received an email, this morning, notifying me that I will be notified when the prescription is ready to be shipped.

Your pre-made menu plan sheets sound like a good motivator. Yes, flexibility is the key.

Hope you get your dusting done! If not, there's always tomorrow! :D

  2. I've been really lax about the meal planning lately, which I think has contributed to the current plateauing with the weight loss. I've made the meal plans/lists of ideas, bought the supplies, and then ignored what I'd planned and just made what has turned out to be less satisfying meals, so have been constantly snacking as well. Your meals always sound so tasty so, meal plan or not, you are doing well.

    1. Meal planning has always been a bit hit or miss with me! Sometimes, I forget to put things out to thaw or don't feel like cooking what I planned to make! But, I make enough for a couple of meals at one time and so, have "planned overs" the next day or later in the week and it seems to work out well enough. :)

  3. You may not have been meal planning, but you and your daughter are eating very well.

    1. That is true! As long as there's a well stocked freezer and pantry, I can come up with something semi-well balanced for meals! :)

  4. That's a pain that you keep having the issue with the pharmacy/docs. Hopefully they will get it straightened out for good this time. I haven't been menu planning the last two weeks either, just winging it and using things up. Have a great Tuesday. :)

    1. I am not sure why they seem unable to update the primary care physician information on their system, but, I know they try their best to keep up with their services.

I've missed drooling over your menu plans! :D

  5. It's hard to understand why the pharmacy still have the former doctor on your records, but perhaps it is a fault of their computers as my mail sometimes calls up people's outdated e-addresses and I have to watch for that. Haven't figured out how to get rid of them.
On Monday I was catching up on laundry and bathroom cleaning. It's cool and damp today so no gardening. One thing I did this morning was to cut up some small scraps of yarn into an onion bag, along with some dog hair from the neighbours' dog. I've hung it up for the birds to use for their nests!

    1. I am not sure why the have the old info, but, I'm just grateful that they offer automatic renewal and will contact the doctor's offices as needed (even it they contact the wrong doctor! LOL)

You had a productive Monday and it sounds like the birds will have some colorful and soft nesting material! I wonder if our birds here will like cat fur; Dancer has plenty he could share! :D

  6. Wow what a mistake! At least you are following through. Imagine it was someone who wasn't as diligent.

    1. At least they notified me. This has happened before, too, so now, every time they say, "The doctor didn't authorize" I ask. "Which doctor did you call?"! I am on maintenance-type medications; it's very unlikely that the doctor will refuse to authorize refills, without discussing it with me, first.
