April Flowers

April showers bring May flowers, according to the old saying.  I wonder if April flowers will bring May showers?!

California Poppies

California Poppy

Phacelia (the bees have discovered them!)

Roses and Osteospermum

Jasmine

Jasmine

Pink Geranium

Coral Rose

I am especially glad to see the coral rose (that's what I call it; don't know the name of it) as it is a survivor of the drought; I think it is a miniature rose and rarely flowers, but, at least, it is still alive!

I took a few more pictures, but, they are refusing to upload!  Maybe there will be a second April Flowers post, a bit later on!

How are your spring gardens coming along?

    1. Oh, must be a case of great minds thinking alike! :D Spring is when my garden looks its best - before the summer heat causes everything to wilt. I am off to check out your post. :)

  3. We grew jasmine when we lived in the south. The smell was heavenly.

    1. They do smell delightful. I cut a couple of sprays to bring indoors to place at the altar - they scented the whole house!

    1. Thank you, Stephenie. I guess your area is a bit cooler than mine. But, I agree, spring is a beautiful time of the year. I think it is when my garden is at its best. After that, it gets too hot!

We did our bottling today with one helper, all of us in masks.

  7. Your flowers are beautiful, I especially love the coloured poppies. My garden is not looking as cheery just yet but I'm hoping that it will look much more colourful in the summer. X

    1. Thank you, Jules. I'm sure your garden is going to be a show stopper once summer arrives! I know you said you were going to concentrate of flowers, this year. I can't wait to see the pictures. :)

  8. Lovely flowers. While walking around your yard, you must enjoy some wonderful fragrance with the roses and your jasmine.
Is your pot of geraniums year round for you? Ours are annuals in this climate. I have thought of bringing them in and attempting to over winter them but by the time I get things cleaned up in the fall, truth be told, I just don't feel like fooling with it.

    1. Thank you. Right now, the predominant fragrance in the garden is citrus flowers - the lemon trees, calamondin, and orange are all flowering! The bees are very happy and busy!

Yes, the geraniums are year round. They don't flower that much during the rest of the year, but, they stay outside. I am thinking of repotting them (I have two of the pink geranium plants) in bigger pots, this year.
