Tuesday was sunny and relatively warm, although cooler than Monday (a high of 72F). Daughter had taken the day off from work, so we both slept in a bit. Then, we drove to the pharmacy for her second Covid vaccination. The vaccination went well and while she sat and waited for the 15 minutes of observation, I looked around the drug store and bought a small bag of cat food for Dancer (a blend for indoor cats, it said).
After we came home, I made us a salad for lunch and turned on the TV to watch the news. But, I didn't watch the news for long because daughter received an email that required her immediate and full attention and I didn't want the news to be a distraction. It took daughter all afternoon to deal with the issue raised by the email and, as a result, she couldn't even rest and relax after her vaccination.
Later in the evening, I had my piano lesson. Afterwards, I made a quick dinner (frozen potstickers/gyoza to the rescue!), washed the dishes, chatted with friend R, and exchanged emails with a friend. No gardening, today, but, I will water the back yard, tomorrow.
Today, I am grateful for:
- Vaccinations and their availability
- A safe drive to the pharmacy and back
- Weekly trash collections
- Piano lessons
- Frozen foods!
Today's joyful activity was taking daughter to get her second vaccination dose.
Plans for Wednesday include watering the back garden, weeding, piano practicing, and vacuuming!
How was your Tuesday? What are your plans for Wednesday?
It's good news that your daughter has now had her second vaccine though a shame that she wasn't able to rest properly afterwards. I hope she hasn't experienced any of the horrible side effects.
ReplyDeleteI listened to the nutrition club this morning and am now finishing off reorganising the house. If I have time later, I will go to the bank to get some more cash. It's just a very quiet, but pleasant, day.
Thank you, Eileen. She started to experience some side effects last night, and we were both up till early morning, but she's sleeping it off, right now.
DeleteSounds like a productive day. Getting the house reorganized is a big accomplishment. Ah, yes, going to the bank in person! I vaguely remember doing that! LOL.
There was lots in the news yesterday, so I'm sure it would have been distracting. When someone is working here, luckily we have doors to close if we want to turn on the TV. It mostly works.
ReplyDeleteYes, she mostly works from her room with the door closed. But, the email she received yesterday was both work related and of a personal nature and I think she needed my presence to reassure her. I am not at liberty to share what it was, but, it was something that rocked her little world and sense of security. Definitely NOT the kind of thing to deal with, especially when not feeing 100% after the vaccination!
DeleteI hope she is okay now and managed to get it all sorted out.
DeleteThank you, Eileen. I think she has done just about all she can do at this point. I asked her to bring it up at the next staff meeting or, at least, discuss with her supervisor, just to get feedback. She's a rather private person, unlike yours truly who is a blabber mouth! :D
DeleteSounds like a good day. I hope your daughter is feeling ok today and hope she is able to take the day to rest too.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Martha; she's not feeling too well, but, she's sleeping it off. She was able to take the day off from work to rest. I think she'll feel better by tomorrow.
DeleteI love having a bag or box of something frozen for rescue meals. We are so lucky we have that option occasionally. It is windy and very cool here today so I might do mainly in the house stuff!
ReplyDeleteThe occasional frozen meal is a life saver, especially as we are not eating out, currently (not even take out!). I hope you have a fun day spent indoors, out of the chilly wind. :)
DeleteI am glad your daughter (and you!) are now both fully vaccinated.
ReplyDeleteThat is too bad that your daughter's planned day off was interrupted with a work issue. I am glad she was able to handle it.
Yes - those dumplings are a handy thing to have in the freezer that's for sure.
Thank you, Debra. The issue was both work-related and personal; she took care of it to the best of her abilities, but, it was (and continues to be) rather stressful. We have already ordered two more boxes of the dumplings/potstickers! I'll be picking up groceries, tomorrow.
DeleteIt's great news about your daughter's vaccination. Just a shame she wasn't able to rest up afterwards. X
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jules. She took another day off from work, today, and is resting. She's experiencing some side effects, but, she's doing OK.
DeleteSorry to hear of daughter's unwelcome e-mail. Glad you were able to be around.
ReplyDeleteI love gyoza! I haven't ever tried ready-made ones though.
Thank you, Lady Ella. Yes, I'm glad I was there to listen to her vent and stress! :)
DeleteThe frozen gyoza is now a staple freezer items for us! :)
