Snow Pikachu |
One of the gift tags my daughter drew and colored to attach to the packages of Pokemon collector cards we gifted to my cousin's grandsons.
Today, I woke up feeling a little tired from the busy weekend. Not so much tired as my back was hurting. So, I took it easy. I did go to CVS to pick up a prescription refill that was ready for pick up and while there, I bought a pack of red and green tissue paper, that was on sale for 50% off; regular price was $2.99 and I paid $1.50. I still have most of a package of white tissue paper, so I am set for next year's gift wrap. And when I came home from the pharmacy, I took the trash cans to the curb. But, I didn't do any laundry or water the garden, or clean the kitchen (I did wash the doors of two lower kitchen cabinets as something had dripped down them).
Daughter woke up complaining of a scratchy throat and I made her some ginger-coriander tea, the Sri Lankan panacea for colds and coughs, etc. We are under an unhealthy air quality alert, so we don't know if it is daughter's allergies flaring up or if she is coming down with something. I have the air purifiers running to clean the air, if it is her allergies. We are sort of staying in separate rooms for now, but, not wearing masks.
We are both hoping that it isn't some virus. We have been very careful up till last week. But, we didn't wear masks when we went to our friend's place on Christmas or to my cousin's place (she with the sick daughter isolating in another room during our visit) on the day after. We also didn't wear masks during the almsgiving. However, we did wear masks when former neighbor T's daughter visited and I am very glad that we did, especially since she announced, during the visit, that she had just recovered from Covid, ending her isolation just the previous day! We also wore our masks when my late friend's daughter came over, yesterday, to use the washer and dryer (we gave her a mask to wear, too, and she did).
Anyway, hopefully, it is nothing to worry about! Daughter is on mandatory work curtailment this week (a budgetary requirement at her work place; staff is required to take no pay leave or vacation time off and daughter is taking no pay leave because she wants to save her vacation days for an upcoming planned trip, next year). So, she will have time to rest and recover.
Today, I am grateful for:
- My medication refills being available for pick up
- Daughter is taking time off this week so she can rest
- Leftovers for meals
- A safe drive to the pharmacy and back
- Working appliances
My joyful activity today was emailing friends and watching online videos.
Tomorrow is New Year's Eve. Is anyone thinking about New Year's Resolutions/Goals, etc.?
Bellissima l' etichetta che ha disegnato tua figlia.
ReplyDeleteBuon capodanno e un sereno 2025
Thank you, Stefania. :)
DeleteHappy New Year to you, too, and may it be filled with good health, peace, and many blessings.
I hope you daughter's scratchy throat won't be anything to worry about, but you are wise to take precautions, just in case.
ReplyDeleteIt's New Year's Eve here, already, but we won't be going out. It's incredibly windy, and the rain is lashing against the windows. We'll be hunkering down indoors.
Happy New Year, Bless. Xx
Thank you, Jules. She is isolating herself in her room.
DeleteHappy New Year and may you have a blessed 2025.
Sounds like both you and your daughter need some down time to just rest after a busy time. Hopefully, the scratchy throat resolves itself sooner rather than later.
ReplyDeleteThank you, June; yes, we both need a little down time to rest.
DeleteHappy New Year to you and your family. Wish you all the best in 2025.
Bless I want to wish you & your daughter a healthy start to 2025, so let's hope that the scratchy throat is just from all the chatting with friends & family over the holiday. Best wishes for a fabulous 2025. ... Mary-Lou
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mary-Lou. Happy New Year to you, Mr. Man, and the kitties.
DeleteThe snow Pikachu is so sweet. I hope that you and your daughter get enough sleep in future and that there are no nasty germs for her, just a bit of tiredness and reaction to air quality. It is good that she has time to rest.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bushlady. Happy New Year to you and your family. May it be a year blessed with good health and happiness.
DeleteI hope you have rested. I'm not surprised you were tired yesterday, after all the work for the almsgiving and clean up! Today I put away the Christmas decorations and cleaned. Usually I wait until new years day, but I got tired of it all! I read your question about my cat while I go away. I don't take her with me. I have a wonderful pet sitter who I've known now for almost 25 years. I hope you have a great new year and best wishes for 2025!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Celie; yes, I'm resting in between doing a few things like laundry. I've been considering taking down the Christmas decorations early, myself, and leave just the tree till the 6th. I'm glad you have someone wonderful to look after your kitty when you are away.
DeleteHappy New Year, Celie; wish you all the best in 2025.
I hope both you and your daughter feel better soon. Happy New Year. May it be healthy for both of you. Thanks for all the lovely posts of 2024
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sharon. Happy New Year to you, too, and enjoy your visit with your daughter and Baby A.
DeleteHappy New Year to you and your daughter. I hope you are feeling better with more energy and your daughter's scratchy throat did not end up being anything more.
