Someone fell asleep while washing his ear! |
On Thursday, it was cloudy and cool. The forecast called for afternoon showers in some areas of southern California, but it didn't rain in my area.
I spent the morning replying to blog comments and catching up on a few blogs. Later, I watered the indoor plants, checked on the garden, crocheted a bit (still working on the blanket border), and continued to add ornaments to the tree. Friend R called and I had a long chat with her and later, a shorter chat with cousin V.
I did a little retail therapy, on Thursday, at one of my favorite shops, but, I didn't take any pictures of what I bought, so, that might be another post, once I've taken some pictures.
We had hamburgers and fries for a late lunch. Dinner was sauteed chicken thighs (from the freezer) with stir-fried carrots and broccoli stalk and rice (daughter) and leftover miso soup (me; I wasn't very hungry after having a hamburger for a late lunch).
On Thursday, I was grateful for:
- A working heater
- Working kitchen lights
- A safe drive to the shops and back
- Phone chats and emails with family and friends
- Time spent with my daughter
Thursday's joyful activity was reminiscing about some of the ornaments I put on the Christmas tree.
Plans for Friday include putting the last touches on the Christmas tree, tidying the family room and kitchen, and tending to the garden with M.
How was your Thursday? What are your plans for Friday?
I do a lot of reminiscing when I decorate our tree as most every ornament has a story. Great picture of Dancer!
ReplyDeleteThank you, June. One moment, Dancer's paw was moving up and down over his ear and the next, he was fast asleep! :D
DeleteChristmas is a time for reminiscing, isn't it? I want to declutter some of my ornaments this year, because daughter is making new ones, but, it's hard to declutter the ornaments with memories and stories behind them.
That is the cutest photo, and title, of Dancer!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bushlady. As I said in my response to June, above, one moment he was cleaning his ear and the next, he had fallen asleep! :D
DeleteLovely photo of Dancer. He's such a character!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sharon. He is definitely a character! :D
DeleteIt is lovely looking at our tree decorations each year. They bring back memories long forgotten and remind us to make new ones. Xx
ReplyDeleteI like your tradition of buying a new ornament, each year, Jules. Lily is going to remember that, as she grows older. Maybe she will carry on with that tradition, in years to come. :)
DeleteOh Dancer, you must've been so tired from all the Christmas preparations going on at your house.
ReplyDeleteOh I'm curious about your retail therapy!
Dancer says he's just exhausted from all the preparations! LOL.
DeleteRetail therapy will be revealed in the next post!
