On Saturday

Beaded Snowflake

On Saturday, my daughter made a beaded snowflake ornament.

We went to the big box DIY store to return the damaged light bulbs.  After we returned them, I purchased another set of bulbs from the store to try out and also a packet of two ceiling fan light bulbs to replace the burned out bulb in one of the ceiling fans.

After we came home, I paid my water and electricity bill and my natural gas bill.  Then, I watched some videos and later, daughter and I sang some karaoke Christmas and Disney songs.  I also started crocheting the border on the blanket I am making.

Brunch was croissant sandwiches with sliced ham and lettuce as the filling.  Dinner was leftover Japanese food.  Fresh fruits and popcorn for snacks, ice cream for dessert.

On Saturday, I was grateful for:

- A sunny and warm day
- The light bulbs return at the store was quick and hassle-free
- Helpful sales assistants
- Singing with my daughter
- E-mails from friends

Saturday's joyful activity was singing with my daughter.

Plans for Sunday include decorating the tree.

How is your weekend coming along?

  1. I look forward to seeing what you daughter's creation for the day is. She is very talented. How big is the snowflake? It sounds like you too are really enjoying yourself. Is her foot getting any better?

    1. Thank you, June. The snowflake is one inch wide and one and a quarter inches long (due to the little loop on top). Daughter's foot it taking its own sweet time to heal, although it doesn't hurt as much. She is still icing it, daily, and using both crutches to walk.

I really hope these bulbs will be okay. Xx

    1. Thank you, Jules. She follows online tutorials and she had to redo the snowflake because the first time didn't work out too well (she's using different sized beads than called for in the tutorial, because that's what she has).
I, too, hope these bulbs will work well. We shall find out on Wednesday when M will be here next to put them in for me.

  3. I love the beaded ornaments! Your daughter is very talented, like her mother. I hope these new lightbulbs are the correct ones. I am trying to make a blank notebook using an old hardback leather book cover. I found the hardback at a thrift store, and know my brother would love the pressed designs in it. The original pages are mostly destroyed and the book itself worthless (I paid $1). I'm following a YouTube tutorial, and so far it's much harder than I thought it'd be! I probably should have done a practice book. Hopefully I'll get this done by Christmas!

    1. Thank you, Angela. Sounds like a good day to stay home and craft! It's been mostly sunny, here, with some clouds. The high was 71F (22C) and it is currently 64F (18C) at 4:30 p.m.

  8. Oh the beaded snowflake is really pretty.
THat's good you were able to return the lightbulbs and also get a few more that you needed. With your tree and new lightbulbs, soon it will be all lit up at Chez Bless. :)

    1. The beaded snowflake is very pretty, isn't it? She ordered the right sized beads for the pattern and made herself a pair of snowflake earrings!
M installed the new light bulbs in the kitchen today and oh, it is so good to have a working light in the kitchen! I replaced the burned out bulb in the ceiling fan light fixture in daughter's bedroom and that room is well lit, too, now. :)
