Still Photo-less on Wednesday!

There's nothing that interesting to photograph, right now!

It was a relatively quiet day.  I woke up feeling a bit light-headed due to stuffed up sinuses and I decided to take it easy.  I did walk for 15 minutes in the morning, so that was something.

M was here, today, to tend to the garden.  He didn't see anything on the roof, so, I'm not going to worry about it.  He pruned the peach tree, spot watered the garden, and brought in the bin with the Winter Village items from the garage so I can set it up.

I spent a good portion of the day knitting on the scarf.  I am running short of the red yarn!  I am not sure if I should use the other red yarn that's in the stash (a different brand), buy more of the same brand of red yarn, or try something different!  Maybe I should have made the scarf a little narrower, But, that would mean unpicking the whole thing and redoing it.

Anyway, I got most of the rest of the gifts ordered, today, again with my daughter's help.  I'm just waiting to hear from my cousin about gift ideas for her grandsons.

Today, I am grateful for:

- Feeling better as the day wore on
- A working heater
- M's help with the garden, etc.
- Daughter's help with ordering the gifts
- Online shopping and delivery!

Today's joyful activity was knitting!

Plans for tomorrow include deciding what I want to do about the scarf and setting up the Winter Village.

How was your Wednesday?  What are your plans for Thursday?

  1. Online ordering sure has made shopping easier these days. Maybe too easy. :) I think I would add a border of a different color to both ends of the scarf. Do you have yard to do that?

    1. I do miss the fun of going to the mall and looking around to find bargains, but, online shopping is less tiring, not to mention safer! I do have a budget and, so far, I've kept to it!
Well, I had already added some stripes with a second color at one end of the scarf and was planning to add more stripes at the other end, but, I decided to unpick the whole thing and redo it, a little narrower.

  2. I'm sure you will come up with a creative idea to finish the scarf!
I finally made a swag for the front door. The fall scarecrow doll with a broomstick, was looking very unChristmassy!

    1. Thank you, Bushlady. I started to unpick the scarf, last night! It was too wide. I had added some stripes in a second color at one end and I might add more stripes, too, and that will extend the yarn a bit more. :)
I am sure your swag looks lovely. I'd have added some pine branches or holly and poinsettias to the scarecrow and called it the Christmas scarecrow! :D

  3. I would use a different yarn, in another colour. Apparently it is very trendy this year to have a scarf which is mostly x at one end, with a shorter length of colour y at the other. I actually read this last week in a UK magazine - but it appeals to my thrifty nature.

    1. I did add some stripes of the second color at one end of the scarf when I started it, and was planning to finish the scarf with more stripes at the other end. But, I like your idea of ending with a shorter length of a different color (maybe that second color I used for the stripes). However, very late last night, I decided to unpick the scarf (way too wide). I'll reknit it and see how it goes. :)

  4. I've never knitted, and when I see what goes into doing it, I am always amazed by the workmanship! Unpicking it must have been a lot of work, too. I'm sure it will be lovely when you finish it. It is final exam week here, and I'm very busy with that. No time to do much else. Online shopping was all I did!

    1. I enjoy knitting and unpicking is much easier than knitting! All you do is tug on the yarn and the whole thing unravels! I can imagine how busy you must be with the grading of exams, etc. Online shopping is very easy, isn't it? All the gifts I was going to buy have been ordered. I just need to finish the ones I am making!

  5. Having read your comments you are starting again so good luck with the second time round scarf. Online ordering is way too easy I keep finding more things to order.

    1. Yes, Eileen; I am redoing the scarf. 25 stitches instead of 35 and that is giving me a better looking scarf. :) Yes, it is easy to order online, although I don't like doing it (which is why my daughter helps me with the ordering process!) I struggle with trying to decide what to order, but, having a fairly tight budget helps. :)

  6. I've read that you decided to start over on the scarf. I'm sure it will look great now that you've decided on the width - and with it thinner you might have enough of your red yarn? Maybe?
If you need a picture for your blog I'm sure we'd all like to see said scarf, in progress or finished :)

    1. Yes, I decided to start over. The new width is better and I think I will have enough yarn. If not, I've a possible alternative way to end the scarf. I was planning to post a picture of the finished scarf, but, maybe one of it in progress is also a possibility! :)
