Better on Thursday

I'm feeling much better, today.  Thank you, everyone, for your "feel better soon" wishes.

I had an early night, last night.  Well, early for me, anyway.  I was in bed by 11:00 p.m.!  It took a little time for me to actually fall asleep, and I woke up a couple of times in the night, but, I slept well and woke up feeling much better.  Everything was back to normal, this morning, so I think it was just something I ate that disagreed with me and not an indication that I was coming down with the dreaded Virus!  7,316 new cases reported in L.A. County, yesterday according to the County's website!

This morning, I had a cup of tea and a couple of saltine crackers with my medications.  Then, I put away the dried dishes that were in the dish drainer and washed the dishes I used, yesterday (didn't feel like doing the dishes before I went to sleep, last night).  I put some toilet cleaner liquid in the toilets and will give the bathroom a quick clean.  I might wait on the vacuuming, though, for another day or so.

I also cooked a very simple dhal curry to have with rice for my lunch.  Dhal and rice is a complete meal and easy to digest.  It's one of the first solid meals we give to children and I grew up eating it.  Comfort food at its best, as far as I am concerned; I forgot to take a photo of it for the Summer Photo Hunt ("Invokes a childhood memory")!  Maybe next time!

Today, I am grateful for:
- Well wishes from my blog friends
- Feeling better
- Being able to take it easy
- Dhal and rice
- Dancer keeping me company

Today's joyful activity might be an afternoon nap or some cardmaking, later on.

My plans for tomorrow include going to my appointment with the oncology nurse practitioner for a routine check up and twice yearly injection to strengthen my bones since I have osteopenia (as a result from my cancer treatments) and M's visit to tend to the garden in the evening.

How is your Thursday coming along?  What are your plans for Friday?

  2. I'm very glad that you are feeling better! I hope M can sort out the package for you. Or maybe call UPS and ask them to come pick it up? I don't know if they will. Take it easy today and enjoy Dancer's company!

    1. Thank you, Celie. I called UPS; the first store I called said they didn't accept packages, but, gave me a toll free number to call. I called the toll free number on three separate times, trying to get through to a customer service person to explain what had happened. But, they only had an automated service and I didn't find the appropriate service - I was not tracking a missing package, I was not trying to schedule a regular pick up, or anything like that; I kept asking for customer service and the automated reply was that service was not available. In the end, I got frustrated and gave up! If Gustavo wants his package, he can track it with UPS and come ask me for it! :p

    2. Sorry, that should have been "three separate times" or "on three separate occasions"! Just writing about it was getting me frustrated all over again! :D

    1. Thank you, June. I must first call to confirm my appointment before I leave in the morning! :D There will be traffic (there is always traffic near downtown, especially on the freeway I take), but, I do hope there won't be a long wait. :)

  4. Sorry to hear you weren't feeling well, glad you are feeling better now. There are so many cases around right now. My niece and her family had it again while I was over in England (their second time despite being vaccinated). Even after they tested negative they were still sounding horrible. It sounds as though a sore throat is pretty common with the new variant going around over there.

    1. Thank you, Sharon. Yes, I was worried it might be something else, but, it seems to have been just something I ate and nothing else. My cousin who had Covid recently said hers started off as a sore throat.

Take care and don't do too much until you feel really well.

  6. I'm so glad you are feeling better. May I ask if you have an injection twice a year, only I have to have an infusion twice a year and have mine due next month so sounds different from what you have, but yes it's to strengthen my bones following the cancer treatment.

    1. Thank you, Eileen. Yes, I have an injection every 6 months. I had one in January and received one, today. The next one will be in January 2023. I will be having a bone density scan done, too; the request for it was submitted to my medical insurance for approval, today, and I will be notified by mail when the authorization has been approved to call and schedule the appointment. :)

  7. I'm glad you took it easy on Thursday and had some nourishing comfort food. I hope the appointment goes well. I've had osteopenia for years and I used to take a pill once a week but I decided that the possible side effects were not something I was prepared to deal with. It was enough to be warned not to lie down after taking it. I haven't heard of any injection so it might be useful to find out more. In the meantime I try to keep up with calcium and Vit. D and eat and exercise suitably.
I'm playing "watch the weather" as yesterday I was just too late to take in some laundry from the line and it got about 4 extra rinses. I've added some more early this morning, and so far there shouldn't be rain before 4 pm but you never know!

    1. Thank you, Bushlady. I've sent you an email about the injection I take (Prolia). It has side effects, too, but, as with any medication, it's a matter of weighing the pros and cons, I suppose.
Oh, I hope it doesn't rain until you take in all the laundry! As for those extra rinses, they do say that rain water softens things, so that wash should be nice and soft after drying! :)

    1. Thank you, Eileen; yes, the numbers are high in my county. 7,009 new cases reported, yesterday, and the test positivity rate is over 15%. My cousin who came down with it is still recovering!

My appointment went well and it wasn't a long wait. Yes, everyone was properly masked, this time! :D

Reading though, I see you had a doctor's appointment this week.
