Daughter had electricity, all day, today! Yay! The power company decided to delay cutting off power to Berkeley until 8:00 p.m., but, daughter's apartment building still has electricity! We had our daily video chat earlier in the evening, today, before 8:00 p.m., just in case, but, she texted me at 9:20 p.m. saying she still had power, and texted me again, shortly after midnight to say goodnight and she still had power! I am hoping that it continues to be so.
I've had electricity all day, too, although my electricity is provided through the City of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and it has not said anything about shutting off power, unlike PG&E and Southern California Edison.
I've had to take it easy, today, too, because my asthma was bothering me. So, although I had errands to run, I postponed them all and stayed home. I took my inhalers and a decongestant, watched news, knitted, and cut out some of the pieces for the baby girl quilt. Later, when I felt better, I did the dishes and cleaned the kitchen, a little bit. I don't know who keeps spilling things on my kitchen counters which then drips down the white cabinet fronts, but, I had to wash some of the lower cabinet fronts!
The podiatrist's office called me, this morning, saying my appointment for next week needs to be rescheduled. Apparently, the podiatrist I had been seeing (who replaced the previous one, earlier this year), has left! We rescheduled the appointment and I will be seeing a different podiatrist when I go in, next.
Today, I am grateful for:
- Daughter is feeling better
- Inhalers
- Daughter and I both had electricity
- We were able to video chat
- A flexible schedule
Thursday's To Do List:
- Water the garden, front and back
- Put gas to the car
- Do some grocery shopping
- Do some other shopping, too
How was your Wednesday? What have you planned for Thursday?
I hope your asthma flare calms down today.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Live and Learn. Most of the time, my asthma is under control, but, every now and then, I get a flare up and I've learned to take it easy when that happens.
DeletePoor you with the dr office changing appointments! Glad you still have power. That would be an inconvenience! Andrea
ReplyDeleteIt is a bit of an inconvenience, but, fortunately, I have a flexible schedule. Yes, very thankful to still have power! We've become very dependent on having electricity! Unless you have a generator, most businesses close, traffic lights don't work, you can't pump gas, credit card machines and ATMs don't work, etc., etc., etc.
DeleteWe heard on the news that power was off for the second day in the San Francisco area so it is good that your daughter has escaped this inconvenience so far. It is a good idea, though, if it can avoid devastating wildfires.
ReplyDeleteI've been to see my friend and her hubby this afternoon and we sat looking over the river, admiring the different colours on the trees on the other side. I took round a book to loan her of unusual places in England and she loaned me some Scientific Americans.
Unfortunately, the fires have already started, even with shutting off the power. But, I suppose that shutting off the power did remove one possible cause of fire. Daughter had electricity, today, too, and was able to work from home.
