I woke up feeling a bit under the weather, this morning, like I was coming down with a cold or a sinus infection and a bit achy. I took two Tylenols and that helped.
Daughter and I had a relaxed morning. Then, in the afternoon, we went to the mall to get her eye brows threaded and do a little shopping. She bought two pairs of leggings, since she couldn't find any on her last visit home. Then, we went to the dollar store and I stayed in the car while she went in and picked up a greeting card.
I rested a bit after we came home; daughter was saying she was fine with not going to attend the taping of the TV show if I wasn't feeling well enough to attend it. But, I didn't want her to miss it and I felt well enough to go with her. So, we went to the taping of the TV show, "A Little Late with Lilly Singh". It was being taped at a studio in Hollywood. Daughter had got us priority tickets, but, we still had to wait in line for about one hour, before we were allowed inside. It was fine, though; all part of the experience. The show taping, itself, was fun. There was a stand up comic entertaining the audience before the taping began and during breaks. Daughter and I both enjoyed the whole experience and it was frugal, too, as the tickets were free and I found free parking on a street a few blocks from the studio (there was no parking available at the studio).
After it was over, we came home and I cooked the shrimp curry for dinner while daughter cooked the broccoli. I'm feeling better, but I took two more Tylenols, as well.
Today, I am grateful for:
- A fun day with daughter
- Being able to attend the taping of the show
- Shared experiences
- Tylenol!
- Cooking with my daughter
Today's joyful activity was attending the TV show taping with my daughter.

Sorry to hear you were feeling under the weather and hope it was just a 24 hour thing. I've enjoyed my own experiences of attending TV recordings so I'm pleased that you were well enough to go to yours. There's a lot of waiting and standing about, which I always feel could be avoided, but once you're in and seated it's good fun.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Eileen. Whatever it is seems to be a 48 hour thing. I am still feeling achy, congested, with a bit of a sore throat. Not quite a cold, but, definitely not 100%. Taking it easy today.
DeleteI’m glad that you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteTV show sounds like a fun experience. It’s a new show, isn’t it? I’ve seen promotional videos on YouTube.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your daughter.
Thank you, Nil. Still not quite 100% yet, though.
DeleteYes, it is a new show. I heard about it on the news (she was being interviewed) and I told my daughter about it, only to find out that she knew all about it because she follows her on YouTube and Instagram, etc.! So, she asked if I'd go if she got tickets to the show and I said yes. :)
I had never heard of this show, but when I looked it up, I see that it just debuted a couple of weeks ago. However, I don't think it will be on my regular viewing list since it is on late at night. You, however, could see it regularly. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, it is a new show. I've watched a couple of episodes, and, of course, I will try to watch the one that was being taped when we went. It'll be fun to see if we were seen being in the audience! :D
DeleteI am glad you were able to go to the taping with your daughter. I am thankful for advil often!
ReplyDeleteIt was fun to go to the taping with my daughter. :) Ah, yes, not sure what we'll do without stuff like Tylenol, Motrin, and Advil!
Deletesounds like a fun day with your daughter.
ReplyDeleteIt was, One Family, even though I wasn't feeling 100%. :)
DeleteHi Bless, It always sounds like you have an enjoyable time with your daughter. Thursday was magical! I have been hiking up in the mountains, and the trails are exquisite. Something about being in the mountain air is so healing and purifying for the lungs and spirit. Today I am doing laundry, cooking, and having the oil changed in my car.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Stephenie. Sounds like you had a lovely day, yesterday. I imagine the trails there are great and the mountain air is wonderful. Sounds like a busy day, today. Hope all is well and you have a lovely weekend.
DeleteThat sounds like fun! I'm glad you got to experience it with daughter.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sharon. Yes, it was a fun experience. I'm glad we were able to go. :)
