Today, I went to the office - and fully enjoyed the blessing of air conditioning! Had a productive day, too. During my lunch break, I went to the bank to transfer funds to daughter's account for her August rent. She went to her bank, later in the day and got the cashiers check and paid the rent.
In the evening, I went to the temple for a blessing. I know I mentioned in one of my posts, last year, that I was not a Christian, but I don't know if I mentioned that I am a Buddhist. So the temple I go to is a Buddhist temple.
In preparation for the blessing, I maintained a vegetarian diet, today (not vegan, because I had milk, cheese and butter). It is traditional to wear white to temple, since white represents purity. I picked flowers from the garden to take with me - there weren't a lot to pick, though. Some roses, a couple of stems of blue agapanthus. It is so hot that the roses become dessicated on the bushes! In addition to the flowers, I took fresh fruits, juice, candles and incense sticks to make an offering at the altar. After the offerings were made, the monks chanted the blessings for my good health.
I've had a quiet, relaxed evening at home, afterwards, video chatting with daughter.
Today, I have felt blessed in many ways - the sunshine on my face and the wind in my hair as I walked to and from the bank during my lunch break; the fact that I had the funds available for daughter's rent; the fragrance of flowers and incense; being able to enjoy the coolness of air conditioning in the office; the ability to video chat with my daughter; and, of course, the blessings the monks chanted. I don't know what tomorrow might bring, but today, I have been blessed with a lovely day.
Tomorrow, I will go to the doctor's appointment in the morning and we shall see what she has to say. Afterwards, I am planning to go to the office for the rest of the day.
I hope your day has been full of blessings, too.
Sounds like you had a good day :-) I'll be thinking about you today. Hope everything goes well at your doctor appointment.ReplyDelete
My Wednesday was much better. Felt better, Little Wolf slept better. Still got up a couple of times, but was able to get him down without too much of a fight.
Jess, thank you for thinking of me. I am glad you felt better and Little Wolf slept better. I think he doesn't want to lose any play time with you! :)Delete
