Sunday Happenings

Woke up this morning to the sound of Dancer cat throwing up!  Apparently,  he ate some of the asparagus fern in my roses flower arrangement that I had placed on the mantel.  He had climbed onto the mantel and pulled one frond out of the vase.  I hadn't realized that asparagus fern is toxic to cats!  He threw up a few times and was rather subdued all day, but seems OK now.  He has stopped throwing up, ate a little dry food, drank a little water and used his litter box.  He's sitting on the floor next to my chair, as I write this.

I spent the morning tending to the cat and then, picked up a friend of mine who came to lunch.  We had originally planned to get together for lunch on Mother's Day, but decided to postpone it because I hadn't felt well enough.  We spent a little time, after lunch, video chatting with my daughter.  Later, after tea, we did a little shopping.  I bought two hanging planters, some rubber gloves, air fresheners, wax paper, two packs of coffee filters for daughter, a pack of four individual apple sauce cups ($1) and a bottle of soda ($1.09 with deposit).  Then, I dropped my friend off at her home and came back.

Later, I collected my cat carrier from a cousin who had borrowed it; just in case I needed to take Dancer to the vet (but he seems OK now, and I probably won't need to take him in, after all).  Then, did a load of laundry.  It's hanging up to dry overnight.

Today, I am grateful for:
- The cat seems to have recovered from eating the fern.
- A pleasant afternoon visiting with my friend.
- Managing to keep the house tidy during the week.
- Pleasant weather (not too hot, not too cold).
- A fun shopping trip.

The weekend has come to an end and it felt like a very short weekend.  It's back to work, tomorrow.

How was your weekend?  Hope you enjoyed a relaxed weekend.

    1. Jess, yes, he's OK and back to normal, now. He loves eating greens (spinach, broccoli and cauliflower leaves, lettuce, etc.), so I have to be very careful what I put in vases. This was the first time I used asparagus fern and believe me, it will be the last!
