I changed my bed sheets and did a load of laundry. Finished sewing my daughter's dress, which took a little longer than I thought because I had to do some unpicking and resewing. I decided to do her friend's dress tomorrow and mended one of my blouses, instead. Later, I watered the indoor plants.
Library Book |
Last week, I finished reading this book I had borrowed from the library. It contains recollections of Russians who were children during World War II. I am still reading The Dictionary Wars by Peter Martin - I put it aside to read "Last Witnesses".
Cousin V called in the evening and we had a nice chat. Later, I video chatted with my daughter.
Lunch had been egg salad sandwiches. Dinner was chicken and vegetable soup from the freezer.
Today, I am grateful for:
- Rescue inhalers
- My sewing machine
- Library books
- Video chatting with my daughter
- What I was able to accomplish today

How was your Tuesday? What are your plans for Wednesday?
"Last Witness" sounds very interesting. What did you think of it?
ReplyDeleteI found it very interesting, Live and Learn. It's a collection of stories; sometimes, I would read several at a time, other times, I could read just one or two. The sad thing is, yes, they are among the last witnesses of that particular war, but, they aren't, and won't be, the last generation of children to witness war.
DeleteI'm sorry you had to deal with asthma. I can't imagine feeling like I couldn't breathe. Scary. Tuesday was a hectic work day,but today is better.
ReplyDeleteThanks, One Family. The rescue inhaler worked its magic, but, until it went into effect, I couldn't draw a deep breath and was wheezing. Not fun.
DeleteI'm glad you are having a better day, today, after your hectic day, yesterday.
I'm reading a book about WW2 as well. It is called "The Occupied Garden" and it is about the Nazi occupation of The Netherlands, told both accurately and imaginatively from the experience of family members of the two sisters who co-authored the book. It is extremely well written from a historical standpoint, as well as bringing to life the realities of that time of suffering for a whole nation.
ReplyDeleteBushlady, thank you for mentioning the book you are reading. I just looked to see if our library has it and there's one copy available at the central library, downtown. I put a hold on it and it will be sent to my local branch library and I will be notified when it comes in. I'm looking forward to reading it. :)
DeleteMy mom used to get asthma attacks frequently, when I was little. Now it happens rarely, but she also has an inhaler.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are all better now. Stay inside if it's too dry and dusty outside. :)
I'm glad your mom's asthma is better, now, and she has an inhaler, if needed.
DeleteI am OK, today, but I took it easy, anyway.
I'm sorry to read you had an asthma attack. I hope you're OK now and well rested. X
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jules. Yes, I am OK now, which means I only have to take my regular inhaler, twice a day. :)
DeleteIt sounds like you are in tune, and taking good care of yourself. That book looks very interesting. I bet it's sad, though.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing OK, thank you, Stephenie. The book was very interesting. It's amazing what hardship people went through and still managed to survive.
