Today, my daughter sent me these pictures she had drawn of herself in her planner, each showing an incident from her day and the outfit she wore that day! She drew them in what she calls "chibi" style, which features big eyes, big heads, small bodies, and exaggerated expressions; it is based on Japanese anime style of drawing.
Monday - first day back at work after two weeks of vacation, she was afraid she might have forgotten how to do her job!

Tuesday - she played a new video game and fell in love with it, she says:
Tuesday |
Wednesday - she said she was very productive at work:
Wednesday: Note the flames of motivation in her eyes! |
Thursday - she got her flu shot and received a $5 gift card!
Friday - she accidentally drowned her salad in in salad dressing!

I love how she captured the highlights of each day this way!
I love it, too!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Live and Learn. :)
DeleteMaybe I should just post one emoticon with a line underneath on my blog a day... it would save me time and still convey what happened to me that day! Very creative on the part of your daughter and she models the outfits she's wearing for you, which I know you like, lol.
ReplyDeleteThere you go, Nathalie! On the days when you are really too busy to post, you can do a couple of emoticons! :)
DeleteThose are great! Thank you so much for sharing your daughter with us!
ReplyDeleteThank you and you are welcome! :)
DeleteHaha, love these! I can understand exactly what your daughter felt on Monday as I'm always convinced I won't remember what to do when I return to work after a break. It's crazy!
ReplyDeleteYes, going back to work after a break can be a bit stressful, but a couple of hours after you return, it's like you never went away at all! :)
DeleteLove these little drawings your DD has done to sum up her week. Some highs and lows all captured perfectly. I've never heard of chibi art before but I know anime. Amy is constantly drawing people with pointed faces and big eyes :) xx
ReplyDeleteThanks, Suzanne. Yes, that's anime, alright! Hope Amy is enjoying her classes this year.
Delete"Chibi" style - the eyes get your attention right away. Thursday was my favorite. Your daughter is very clever and I am sure extremely good at whatever she does.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sandy. She says she was just doodling. I told her she should continue to try to do a highlight of her day, every day!
DeleteLove them! Looks like she had a good week. After my holidays I always panicked in case I forgot my alarm codes. It happened once for the office door alarm (this was when I went in at like 3.30am) and security called. It was really embarrassing.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sharon. Oh, forgetting the security code must have been stressful!
DeleteThese are such fun! And you can tell your daughter that when I had my flu shot, all I got was a sore arm! (But I can't complain as the injection was covered by our health insurance anyway.)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bushlady. I will be sure to tell her! :)
DeleteSweet drawings! I like how your daughter put her outfit she wore each day on her drawing. I can sympathize with the salad dressing! Andrea
ReplyDeleteThanks, Andrea. Those salad dressing bottles can be tricky at times! :)
DeleteShe is really talented and I love how she was able to capture her day is each picture. :) Made me smile!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Debbie. She showed me the ones she did for the weekend - on Saturday, she was hauling home a bag of groceries; on Sunday, she's in bed as she's feeling poorly.
DeleteI'm sorry your daughter was not feeling well on Sunday. I pray she is better now.
DeleteThank you, Debbie. Yes, she's feeling better, now.
