Another Visit to the Vet Clinic on Wednesday

Dancer
Hello Blog Friends,

It's me, Dancer.  It's been a long time since I last wrote a blog post.  But, I have not been feeling too well, recently, and I'm sure Mummy has told you about it.

Today, I had another appointment at the vet clinic.  I had to go in the carrier and you know that I don't like being in that carrier!  I don't like being locked up in that cage and I protested about it, quite loudly.  I got so upset that I started panting and Mummy said I was hyperventilating (I had to ask her what that meant and she explained it to me).  Well, it was because I was put into this carrier and then, taken in the car, and taken to this place where there were strangers and other cats and dogs.

We waited in the waiting area for a short time and then, one of the technicians said that a person was bringing a rather fierce dog and we were all asked to move off to a side to clear a path for the fierce dog to go through!  All the people in the waiting area had to move to a side hallway while the fierce dog was taken to the examination room!  The technician took my carrier from Mummy and put it up on a high counter, where the dog wouldn't see me.  I was very glad when they said that we could go back to wait in the waiting room!

Later, another technician came and took me to one of the back rooms where they weighed me (I've gained a little over one pound in the last month!), drew some blood from me to run some tests, and gave me an injection for my arthritis.  Ooh, that hurt!  Mummy said the bill for the visit hurt her!

The vet will call Mummy when the blood test results come in.  Until then, Mummy will continue to give me the ear ointment.  I don't mind that, too much.  I didn't like the ointment she put in my eye, but, my eye is much better, now, and she has stopped putting the eye ointment.

Then, we drove home and I meowed all the way home, mostly because I was anxious to get home where I knew I'd be safe from fierce dogs!

After we came home, Mummy gave me some tuna as I am not liking the canned cat food that much after I threw up the other day.  Mummy ate some of her muffins for brunch.

Later, our gardener M arrived and Mummy gave him some muffins, too, and a tomato from the garden.  I like M and once he brought me a toy mousie to play with.  I found a safe spot for the mousie to hide  under the china cabinet and now, we can't get him to come out to play!

I had more tuna for dinner and Mummy had chicken, rice, green peas, and peach chutney.

Mummy says that she is grateful for:

- Having the vet check me and give me medicines
- A safe drive to the clinic and back
- M taking care of the garden for us
- I've gained a little weight
- Me being a good, brave kitty

Mummy says her joyful activity for the day was admiring the flowers in the garden.

I am grateful for:

- Not being in the carrier
- The fierce dog didn't attack me!

My joyful activity for the day was eating tuna!

What was your joyful activity on Wednesday, blog friends?  Do you like tuna?  I hope you have a good day, tomorrow.

Take care,

Dancer

    1. Hello Tilly, I'm glad you don't bite or fight and that you love fish! Fish is yummy, isn't it? Thank you for the well wishes. Mummy says you have a friend named Yasmine and you visit her sometimes. That must be fun. Bye for now, Tilly.

  2. Oh dear Dancer, I am so sorry you had to go into the carrier again, it is rather tiny for cats isn't it. You do know that it is to keep you safe on the journey & thankfully for only a short amount of time. Glad to read that your eye is getting better as is your ear. How lovely that M brought you a toy to play with. Both Smoke & Soot send their fondest regards.

    1. Thank you, Mary-Lou. I just don't like being in a carrier and being taken in the car. I get anxious. Do Smoke and Soot like to be in their carriers? Tell them I said Hi.

    2. Dancer, We HATE being in a carrier. I, Soot get the soft sided one with the zipper top so I can poke my head out, otherwise it's screaming the whole drive to the vets. My sister, Smoke has the hard sided carry case & she gets very quiet & wild eyed when traveling. When we get home, we are quite cross & anxious so we spit & growl at each other for hours until Mom gives us special lap time & lots of attention. =^..^=

    3. Oh, it's good to know that I'm not the only one who hates being in the carrier! There is an opening at the top of my carrier, but, Mummy doesn't open it because she thinks I'll try to wriggle out from it! Maybe I can get my Mummy to buy me a soft sided carrier to see if I'd like it better. Ooh, Soot, you and Smoke are naughty to spit and growl at each other, afterwards! I'm not too fond of being in a lap - I'll sit next to Mummy, but, that's all.

  3. Hi Dancer. I'm glad you're feeling well enough to write a blog post for us. Gaining a pound in a month is great. Annie says that she understands your protests about going to the vet. Nothing good ever happens their even though they tell you it's for our own good.

    1. Hi Annie. Thank you for replying to my blog post and may I say how very sorry I am that you lost your brother Leo? I hope you are not missing him too much. I'm glad you understand why I don't like going to the vet!

  4. Hi Dancer! 👋🏻 My colony of kitties (I have 10) agree that going to the vet is a scary undertaking, but how brave you were! Your mummy loves you very much to put up all the singing you did. We hope you feel 100% very soon. Tell your Mummy hello from Judy in Anaheim.

  7. Oh Dancer, what a traumatic day, complete with ferocious dog coming through the vet clinic! I'm so glad they put you out of reach. I'm glad you don't have to have ointment in your eye any more. My husband has to have drops in his eye and he doesn't like that much, either! I'm sure you were relieved to go home and enjoy your tuna. I hope your blood test results will be good. Don't give up on Mousie, he's sure to get tired and come out from under the china cabinet one day. Maybe Mummy can ask M to move it for her!

    1. Thank you, Bushlady; yes, it was a stressful day for me! I'm sorry your husband has to have drops in his eye, but, tell him to be brave about it - I was! Thank you for the well wishes on the blood test results. Mummy says she's afraid to check under the china cabinet because she doesn't know what else might be hiding under there! I think she's still looking for that tail-less lizard! Ha, ha.

  8. Hello Dancer, how lovely to hear from you again after such a long time. I'm so sorry to hear that you had to go to the vet again. It sounds like the journey in your carrier was traumatic and you quite rightly protested loudly, although I do feel sorry for your Mummy's ears! The fierce dog incident must have been scary and I'm so relieved that you weren't hurt. I hope you are feeling much better now. xx

    1. Hello Eileen, it's nice to hear from you, too. I don't like going to the vet, especially when there are fierce dogs about, but, Mummy says I have to. Mummy says it was the first time the people waiting were asked to step aside to make room for the arrival of the fierce dog. I'm feeling a little better, now, thank you.

  9. Hi Dancer, it's me Debra. You can call me Aunt Debra if you like.
Oh my, you've been through it as we humans like to say.
I'm glad you no longer need the eye cream because, quite honestly, that would've bothered me too.
Maybe you don't mind the ear drops too much because when your very rude neighbors start to play their music it muffles the sounds and you can still take your naps. Remind your mom to get some ear plugs for the next time.
Such good news about your weight gain. I am an expert in that area so if you need some advice let me know.
    Love,
    Aunt Debra
p.s. be nice to your mom.

    1. Hi Aunt Debra! Yes, it's not easy to be a 15 year old cat! We get all kinds of aches and pains. I'm glad I no longer need the eye cream (Mummy says it's been a week now since we stopped it). But, I have to have a higher dosage of the ear cream. Mummy picked it up, yesterday.
Mummy says she's an expert in gaining weight, herself. But, I'm a picky eater.
Ha, ha, I'm being very nice to my Mummy! Ask her what happened to her pillow...
