Sunny Saturday

More Roses

Thank you, everyone, for your kind comments about my pizza making skills!  I had fun with all the substitutions!  LOL.  I had the rest of the pizza for my brunch on Saturday, warmed up in the toaster oven, and it was good.

Saturday was a sunny and warm (69F) day.  I walked for 15 minutes, again.  It's not yet a part of my morning routine, but, I'm hoping it will be.

Afterwards, I replied to blog comments, watched some online videos, and sewed on the quilt.  I've replaced all the obviously torn pieces; I am now replacing some that are worn out, even if they are not torn.

I called friend R to check on her in the evening and, later, video chatted with my daughter.  She went to the Cherry Blossom Festival in San Francisco's Japan Town with a friend of hers and enjoyed herself.

There was a Taiko drumming performance to watch:

And some yummy food to sample:

She told me what all the dishes were, but, I didn't write down the names.  The crepe had a filling of mandarin orange segments, lychee gelato, and whipped cream.

Brunch had been the other half of the pizza I made.  Dinner was leftover rice and curries (chicken, cashews, and mango).

Today, I am grateful for:
- A sunny and warm day
- Roses blooming in the garden
- Managing another walk
- Daughter had a fun afternoon at the Cherry Blossom Festival
- Leftovers!

Saturday's joyful activity was watching videos while I sewed.

Sunday is supposed to be another sunny and warm day.  I'm looking forward to another warm day!

How was your Saturday?  What are your plans for Sunday?

  1. Good job with your walking. Being consistent with exercise is the hardest part for me.

    1. Thank you, June. Being consistent is the hardest part for me, too. But, I'm hoping that I can keep at it. I walked 15 minutes, today, too. :)

  2. Drumming under the cherry blossoms, that sounds heavenly! And good luck with your walking, most mornings i am the one making it happen, but sometimes it is my husband. Do you have a 'walking buddy', even if it is someone that just gets you out of the door. Don and I will leave here within the hour, I will think of you walking too. from far but similar time zone.

    1. Thank you for thinking of me when you walked, Jozien. I don't have a walking buddy, but, the blog keeps me accountable! :D Once upon a time, I walked a lot more, but, I've become more and more sedentary over time. I hope you enjoyed your walk, Jozien. :)

  3. The Cherry Blossom Festival sounds lovely as you probably know my daughter-in-law is Japanese and I know how much she loves the cherry blossom and I know she had a picnic in the park with her friends in London last year. I have just been to the promenade for a walk with Tilly after waiting for the rain to stop.

    1. I hope your daughter-in-law is able to enjoy a picnic in the park this year, too, Eileen. I wonder if there is a Cherry Blossom Festival in London? I did read that there were many parks with cherry trees in London. I'm glad the rain cleared and you were able to go for a walk with Tilly. It's mostly sunny, here, but, cooler than yesterday. But, I did my 15 minutes of walking and I am happy about that. :)

  4. I'm glad you had some more warm weather to walk in. I rather like the sound of that crepe and the other food looks good, too.
We feel like we are in summer right now, it is still very warm, around 76°F for the last 2 or 3 days! We will enjoy it while we can. We had a baptism in church this morning and this afternoon, because it is
"Divine Mercy Sunday", we will have a special service at 3 pm.

    1. Thank you, Bushlady. You are having warmer temperatures than I am having down here! It's 63F right now in the early afternoon, although the forecast says it will go up to 68F. We are supposed to have warmer temperatures towards the end of next week, however (and I shall look forward to that!) Enjoy your warm weather.
I believe that today is also the day the Eastern Orthodox Christians celebrate Easter. So, a holy day all around. :)

  6. What a beautiful pink your rose is. Such a nice soft shade of pink.
Your daughter's outing sounds very nice. And the food looks really good :). Cherry Blossoms are beautiful aren't they? I have a Cherry tree in the back yard. A very old one that has had many dead branches removed but it does put on quite the show. I am looking forward to that in a few weeks.
So you didn't stop at 5 days but walked again on Saturday. Good for you, Bless.

    1. Thank you, Debra; the rose is actually a deeper pink in real life, my phone camera doesn't take the best photos.
Cherry blossoms are really pretty and they are my daughter's favorite flower! Enjoy the cherry blossoms on your tree when it flowers. Do you get cherries, too?
Not only am I keeping up with the walking, I've increased the time, too! Yay, me! :D

    1. Thank you, Susanne. The roses were very pretty this spring and the walking is coming along, slowly, due to hip pain. But, I'm keeping at it! My daughter enjoyed the cherry blossom festival. :)
