Sunny Saturday

"Let the Sun Beam on You!"

Saturday was sunny and Dancer and I enjoyed sharing the sun beams that were coming through the living room window!

We had a relaxed morning and I managed  in the early afternoon, I walked outside in the driveway for 15 minutes and then, checked on the plants in the front garden.  Neighbor S came home from church while I was still out in the garden and we chatted for a little bit.  She had brought a plate of homemade baklava that someone had brought to share at the church and offered me a piece; it was delicious!

Afterwards, Dancer and I shared a sun beam and I replied to blog comments.  Thank you, everyone, for your birthday wishes!  Meanwhile, Dancer guarded claimed one of my slippers:

"This is MY Slipper!"

I gave Dancer his flea prevention medication, ran the dishwasher, emptied the dishwasher, put away the laundry that I should have put away earlier, but, didn't, watched the evening news, chatted with friend A and with friend R, video chatted with my daughter, and made coconut roti for dinner (there was plenty of food leftover from what R had sent me, even after having some of it for my lunch, today, too, but, I had kept a packet of frozen grated coconut to thaw in the fridge before I knew that R was sending me lunch on Friday and I didn't want the thawed coconut to spoil).

Today, I am grateful for:
- My many blessings
- Working appliances
- A sunny day
- Kind, caring, friends and neighbors
- Being able to video chat with my daughter

Today's joyful activity was sharing a sun beam with Dancer!

How is your weekend coming along?

  1. You had a nice Saturday. The sunlight pictures on Dancer are very nice.
I didn't do much yesterday really. Just the normal household things. Vacuumed the downstairs and cleaned a toilet :) cooked, did the dishes- the household things that fill a day but no special tasks.
Not sure what to cook for today. There's a bit of the lentil soup I made a couple days ago left. I might put some chicken in the crockpot for my husband and make him some rice. He loves chicken and rice with a sweet Chile sauce on it. And I can finish the rest of the lentil soup.
At least that's what I think will happen.
You have enough food for today probably with R's gift food and the roti you made so maybe this will just be a reheat day for you. I like those:)

    1. I did have a nice day, yesterday. Dancer enjoyed his sunbeam, yesterday.
Sounds like you had a nice day, too, filled with domestic tasks. Hope you decided what to cook for today! Chicken and rice with sweet chili sauce on it sounds wonderful to me.
Yes, I have plenty of leftovers to have, today. I do have that bunch of asparagus that I bought in my last grocery order to cook up before it spoils - might do that, later this evening.
I hope you are having a lovely Sunday evening, Debra.

  2. Dancer has such an expression on his face with that slipper - he has no doubt about who owns it!

It sounds like you had a busy day. Take care of yourself.

  3. Dancer in the sunbeam looks a lot like my Leo in his sunbeam yesterday. Cats love those sunbeams!

    1. They do love to be in the sunbeams, don't they? I saw Mama Cat sitting in a patch of sunlight, this afternoon. :)

  5. Too funny Dancer claiming your slipper! Lovely to be in a sunbeam.
We had a wee bit of the dreaded white stuff overnight! Most melted but there is still some where the sun hasn't had a chance to get to it so there are odd little patches here and there. Thank goodness it wasn't a lot. It's pretty cool out and I brought up the winter jackets from the basement.

    1. Dancer says he's heard that some other cats get boots, but, he has to fight for a slipper! :D
Oh, my! Snow! Glad it melted (for the most part). Glad you brought up the winter jackets! Keep them handy!

  6. Trust a cat to find a sunbeam if there is one! It sounds like you had a good day. I am resting up from a fall at work on Friday when a tall lab chair rolled out from under me. Fortunately no damage, just sore. I hope today is sunny there as well. Below freezing and cloudy here!

    1. Oh, Celie, I'm so sorry to hear that you had a fall! But, very thankful that you didn't break anything! Even so, just the bruising can be quite painful, so try to take it easy! Sending you some milder temperatures and sunshine, your way. :)

  7. This may be my second comment on this post ... I can't remember whether I commented or not!

That's a lovely photo of Dancer in the sunlight. Has he let you have your slipper back yet? Maybe he was upset that you didn't share the baklava with him. 😂

Did you wear your new clothes today?

    1. So far, this has been your only comment on this post, Eileen.
Dancer abandoned the slipper the minute he heard me going into the kitchen to make a cup of tea - he knows I give him a spoon of tuna when I make my evening cup of tea! I think he was upset that he doesn't have boots unlike a certain story book character! :D
Um...no, not yet! I haven't washed the new clothes yet. But, they are in the laundry basket and will get washed next week; I promise! :D

  8. Is there anything else so sublime as a stream of sunlight. Dancer was wise to soak it in.

    1. I enjoy sitting in a sunbeam, but, it has to be on a chair. I'm afraid I'd never be able to get up if I sat on the floor now!
