Productive Thursday

Another sunny day with an afternoon high of 74F; I'm not complaining!  The nights are in the low to mid 40s (tonight's low will be 46F according to the forecast), but, the daytime highs are nice.

I had a productive day, today, and got several things crossed off my to do list!

I did the home lab test, filled out the required forms, and put it all in the mail box to be collected;
Called the doctor's office about the outstanding lab test and left a message (didn't get a call back)
Called and scheduled a mammogram and ultrasound:
Scheduled the next oncology blood test;
Did a load of laundry (bathroom/kitchen rugs);
Did a Random Act of Cleaning and wiped down the washing machine, under the lid, etc. (it's a top loader);
Swept & mopped the kitchen;
Cleaned the bathroom;
Started on the paperwork I've been procrastinating doing

Later in the evening, I called and chatted with friend R and video chatted with my daughter.

Brunch had been French toast; for dinner, I "made over" the leftover Thai chicken from my birthday lunch, adding carrots and asparagus tips to it and had it with freshly cooked rice.

Today, I am grateful for:
- Sunny days and warm afternoons
- Working appliances
- A productive day
- Phone calls and video chats
- Exchanging emails with friends

Today's joyful activity was crossing off a few items from my To Do List!

Plans for tomorrow include:

- More paperwork/filing
- Continuing with the freezer inventory
- Tending to the garden with M

How was your Thursday?  What are your plans for Friday?

  1. I sounds like you got some things done that needed doing. It's a good feeling, isn't it?! I worked on stuff for my Etsy shop yesterday. Waiting to get my bank account set up with them because of a glitch in the system so I can list stuff.

    Hope you have a great weekend. xo Diana

    1. Yes, I did, Diana, and it does feel good! I tend to stress about things instead of just doing them and getting them out of the way!
      Oh, I didn't know you were setting up an Etsy shop! Hope that goes well!
      Thank you, Diana; hope you have a lovely weekend, too. :)

    1. Thank you, Ward/June! There's something so satisfying about crossing items off a to do list! Give me a sense of accomplishment! LOL.

  3. You have been a busy bee! You're allowed to treat yourself now. That's the way I do it, which probably explains why it's taking me so long to get anything done!

    M was here to do the garden this morning ... she worked, I chatted ... and this afternoon I bought some wool and a crochet hook to get started on my new hobby. xx

    1. Thank you, Eileen. I was feeling a bit overwhelmed, earlier in the week, because I had this long list of things to do - none of which was going to take me long to do, but, just the thought of having to do them was stressing me out! I knew I was being silly and yesterday, I told myself that I'll just take one thing at a time and just do it! I need to have that same frame of mind, today, too, and I'll get today's list done, too!
      Glad your M was there to do the garden and you kept her company! :D My M will be here later this evening.
      Yay for new wool! I hope you have fun crocheting (and your hands won't hurt). What are you planning to make?

    2. I'm making a cowl/infinity scarf to start with. Nice and simple, and shouldn't take too long. I've bought a different crochet hook that has a shaped padded handle which I'm hoping will be easier on my hands. I'll soon know! xx

    3. Sounds great! I hope the new crochet hook will be easier on your hands (my hands will often either cramp up or go numb when I first start knitting or crocheting, then, after a couple of days of doing short periods of knitting/crocheting, my hands get used to it and then they are fine). Looking forward to seeing your scarf in progress and when it is finished. :)

  4. How satisfying to get a lot of things crossed off your to do list!
    I was able to do some small chores while my cleaning lady came for the first time and did the major work. It is such a relief to know that the house is in good shape, and the pressure is off as I can just keep things ticking over till she comes again in two weeks' time. I also had a better night for the first time in 2 1/2 weeks, and didn't have to migrate round the house trying to find somewhere to sleep without my leg hurting. We are going to get our Covid shots this afternoon.

    1. Thank you, Bushlady; yes, it felt good to get things done instead of stressing about all that needed doing! I procrastinated and didn't apply the Just Do It and baby steps routines. Then, I started to feel overwhelmed and stressed! Had to give myself a good talking to and just did it! :D

      Oh, I'm glad you now have someone to do the housecleaning done for you! Especially after your fall! Now all you have to do is keep things maintained, which shouldn't be too difficult. I'm glad that you had a better night's sleep, too.

      Glad you are getting your Covid boosters, today. Hope you will have minimal side effects. :)

  5. I had a lovely Thursday! Some promised things I needed, a lovely surprise, a good chat and a nice phone call. Congrats on getting so much done. I have started making a short to-do list for each day of the week. I find it easier to maintain momentum that way as, like you, I get stressed when I have stuff hanging over me - even if it is just a long list of small chores.

    1. I'm so glad that you had a good day on Thursday, Lady Ella. :)
      Thank you! Getting started is the biggest hurdle, for me. The daily to do lists are a good tool. I make them, too, but, my daughter tells me my lists are too long! :D

  6. I have just remembered what the other nice thing was, that happened on Thursday: I had an email from a jam customer who I hadn't heard from for a long time, asking for a preserve list. I knew there was something else, but it didn't come to me before.

    1. Yay! More potential jam sales! I suppose people are starting to think about holiday gifts and there's nothing better than homemade jams and preserves. I hope you have as many orders and sales as you can handle! :)

  7. You did get a lot done on Thursday. You must've had a nice sense of accomplishment at the end of the day.
    You had nice comfortable temperatures during the day on Thursday. But your nights are chilly. I'm sure you are bundled up in bed!

    1. I felt very pleased with myself on Thursday! I just wish that I can keep it up, instead of procrastinating until it becomes overwhelming! I need to be more disciplined when it comes to housekeeping and paperwork!
      Our daytime temperatures are nice, right now. But, the minute the sun goes down, it starts to get cold! Today's high was 78F; tonight's low will be 47F. I've several quilts and blankets on the bed and they keep me warm. :)
