Relaxed Saturday

I slept well, last night, and had another pain free and very relaxed day, today. Spoke with cousin P in the morning, neighbor T in the afternoon, and friend R in the evening.

It was another warm (highs in the 90s) day today.  I had considered trying out a new zucchini bread recipe, but, it was too hot to turn on the oven!  Instead, I spent the majority of the day repairing the quilt and watching videos.  My daughter vacuumed the house and said it was quite a work out!  I offered to do some of the vacuuming, but, she didn't let me.

I guess my biggest accomplishment today was cooking my brunch (scrambled egg, sausage, toast) while standing at the stove!   Haven't done that in over a month!

Today, I am grateful for:

- The blessing of another pain free day
- Daughter doing the vacuuming
- Phone calls with family and friends
- Working appliances (ceiling fans, stove, etc.)
- Being able to watch online videos

Today's joyful activity was sewing and watching videos.

Plans for tomorrow might include some chutney making, provided my daughter is up to it.  If not, I will continue to repair the quilt and watch more videos!

How was your Saturday?  What are your plans for Sunday?

  1. A relaxed, pain-free day with someone else doing the vacuuming. Sounds perfect.

    1. It was a good day, June, although I felt guilty about daughter having to vacuum (she hates my canister type vacuum cleaner).

  3. It sounds like you might be over the worst of it. But please make sure to the things slowly. I would hate to think of you in so much pain again. Xx

    1. Thank you, Jules; that's what I am hoping too - that I might be over the worst of it and the pain will not return! Hope all is well with you and yours, Jules.

  4. Another pain free day is great news and long may it continue. Is it becoming a distant memory or is it still very much on your mind?

I've had a quiet day today. It's been trying to rain since lunchtime but so far has only managed some drizzle - the thunderstorm is promised for midnight! I've been watching YouTube videos to pass the time - Harry Potter Theory and Locker Nuts (the people who clear abandoned storage units). I'm sure the videos you're watching are more interesting and educational than my choices 😂

    1. I'm counting each pain free day as a blessing! The pain is still very much on my mind and my daughter's mind, too! We are taking it one day at a time, but, she will be returning to Berkeley by the end of July, so, I need to be able to do things for myself by the time she leaves!

Glad you are having a quiet day and the thunder storm is holding off. I go through phases of what I watch! I watched a bunch of organizing/decluttering videos, at first, then, I watched a series of gardening videos. Then, quilting related videos. Now I am in the history phase - there was a video about Shakespeare's mother, another about Jane Austen, a 3 part series about the role of servant in British homes from the Victorian Era to about the end of the 1930s, a 4 part series about the evolution of various rooms in British homes (Living room, Kitchen, Bathroom, Bedroom), etc. :)

  5. You are doing well with keeping in touch with family and friends. On-line videos are great, readily accessible!

It's hot when the sun is out, windy, and we did eat lunch on the deck. A day for an on-line live mass (had to switch churches mid-mass when one live stream failed!), and to relax and work on genealogy. I did make up some Jello with sliced banana for our dessert for today and tomorrow (to be embellished with frozen yogurt).

    1. Thank you, Bushlady; I try to keep in touch with everyone, although I chat with some people on a more regular basis than others. I'm enjoying the online videos. :)

Sounds like you are having a nice Sunday; glad the rain has stopped! It is another hot day, here (90+) and I am contemplating making zucchini bread!
