Wednesday

Wednesday's Zucchini Harvest

The largest one is 14 inches long and is quite heavy!  The second largest one is 13 inches long!  Those two were hiding from us!  I cut up the smallest one to make another salad for our dinner.

It's been another good day, today.  In the morning, I used to stove to boil water for my tea and it worked well.  I will still buy a new stove, though, just to be on the safe side!  Later, I went out to check on the back yard and walked around a bit.

M was here this morning to tend to the garden and he picked the zucchini and another handful of green beans.  He'll be here again on Friday.  I must ask him if he can continue to make twice weekly visits in July, as well.

In the afternoon, I spent some time repairing the quilt, but spent more time watching videos online!

Lunch had been hamburgers and both daughter and I had some zucchini bread for tea.  Dinner was leftover curries from yesterday, with freshly cooked rice and zucchini salad.

Today, I am grateful for:
- Another good day
- Today's zucchini harvest
- A walk in the garden
- The stove worked well
- Online videos to watch

Today's joyful activity was checking on the garden.

Not sure what my plans are for tomorrow!  I will continue with repairing the quilt, but, anything else will depend on how I feel, etc.

How was your Wednesday?  What are your plans for Thursday?

  2. 👏👏 for another pain free day.

I'm collecting up all the old photography equipment ... there is more than I remembered so am taking my time and searching through every possible place I could have stored it. I have to keep stopping for coffee as I still feel a bit drained from the migraine, but it is getting done. This is probably the biggest bit of decluttering left to do and it's proving to be an emotional experience as there are so many memories tied up in everything. It's time for it all to go though and I'll update my camera system with the money I make from the sales.

    1. Thank you, Eileen.

Yes, I'm sure the old photography equipment has memories associated with them. I like your plan to use the money from the sales to update your camera system. :)

  3. The stove would make me nervous. We're starting to look for a new range. We're leaning towards induction which cooks a lot like gas, but it is more expensive. So many things to weigh.

    1. There are a lot of options when it comes to stoves, aren't there? Good luck with selecting your stove.

  4. That zucchini just keeps going and going! How many plants do you have?

    1. Way too many! 14 plants! I couldn't bear to throw away the ones that were thinned out and planted them elsewhere in the garden and they are all producing!

  5. Sneaky zucchini, hiding from you! Who knows how big they might have become if you hadn't found them!
I've had cleaning the bird sunflower feeders on my list for a few days so I guess I should get around to it and store them. I no longer put the seed out in summer since the suspected bear visit last year. I do have 3 hummingbird feeders which I cleaned and refilled a few days ago. I hope the bear doesn't fancy them if he is anywhere around.

    1. Ha, ha, maybe I should let a zucchini grow just to see how big it will get!

Sounds like you have a busy day ahead of you, cleaning the bird feeders. I no longer put out bird seeds because of all the cats in the garden, but, the birds don't seem to mind - they eat the cat food, instead! LOL.

Oh, I hope you don't get any bears coming around for the nectar in the hummingbird feeders!
