Thursday

Today was a little warmer.  I made pancakes for brunch, practiced the piano, did some paperwork, watered portions of the back garden and all of the front yard.

Later in the evening, I started cleaning the kitchen.  I didn't finish, but, I washed one of the counters, shined the copper kettle which holds the wooden spoons, etc., cleaned the stove hood, the stove, and the plate with the kitchen prayer that hangs on the wall behind the stove.  I probably should have washed the wall behind the stove too, but, I ran out of energy!  The kitchen is, once again, the room of focus, this month, so, I will be doing sections of it, over the next several days.

Today, I am grateful for:

- Technology that enables me to blog and video chat with my daughter

- Water for the garden

- Musical programs on TV

- Rubber gloves (to wear while cleaning)

- Phone calls from friends

Today's intentional joyful activity has been listening to music, both one of the CDs in my collection and musical programs on TV.

Thursday's To Do List:

- Clean the kitchen - DID SOME
- Water the garden, front and back - DID the front
- More paperwork - DID SOME
- Practice the piano - DONE

Friday's To Do List:
- Clean the bathrooms
- Do one deep cleaning task (kitchen)
- Tend to the garden with M
- Practice the piano

How was your Thursday?  What are your plans for Friday?

  1. You have been a busy bee. I always think the kitchen, even my tiny one, take the most effort to keep clean and tidy, not helped by the fact that I can be quite a messy cook at times!

My plans for today have changed with the birth of my newest great nephew as I am staying at home to make a card to celebrate his birth.

    1. Congratulations on the new addition to the family! The birth of a new baby is always so exciting!

I'm a messy cook, too. Plus, once again, I have ended up with too many things sitting out on my counters.

  2. My kitchen needs some serious cleaning. I haven't quite been keeping up since we've been doing a lot of produce processing. But I'm glad that we've had the fruits and veggies to work with.

    1. Canning, etc., takes a lot of time and the fruits and vegetables need to be processed right away. But, it is a blessing to have all the fruits and vegetables to "put up", isn't it? Once all that is over, you can clean. :)

  3. You are doing a great job! I need to get myself motivated too. It's hard to be worried about it since I know nobody will be entering my house anytime soon *sigh*

    1. Thank you, Martha. Ha, ha, having people over is a great motivator for cleaning, isn't it? No one is coming here, either, but, I am tired of seeing my own mess! :D

  4. I am thankful for technology also. I don't need to video chat with my sons, talking to them is fine. But I need to see Pip!

  5. I ran out of energy as well, but since the excitement of bathroom cleaning yesterday (a thorough job, which included the cleaning of grout with an old toothbrush and some bleach) today I washed out the washing machine detergent drawer. Never let it be said that I don't know how to have a good time :D

    1. Ooh, grout cleaning with a toothbrush! You do know how to have a good time! LOL. Necessary jobs, though. I hope you have some non-cleaning fun scheduled for the weekend, Jules, as you enjoy the last of the summer.

    1. Aw, that's very sweet of you, Akasha. I am doing fine, thank you. I honestly don't mind staying home, all day. I am finally getting around to doing some much needed cleaning. :) Hope all is well with you.

  8. Ha, I also have part of the kitchen counters to finish!
I went to have coffee with my friend by the river this morning, we enjoyed seeing the ducks and also several geese who started flying around. I hope they are not leaving too soon! Just after we parted, it started to rain, so we were fortunate that we had our visit before then. I had planned to go grocery shopping but one look at all the cars and I decided that it wasn't that urgent!

    1. I finished my kitchen counters today! :) Someone hasn't been very good about ETEing, lately, so, the counters were very cluttered!

I'm glad you were able to enjoy coffee with your friend before it rained. Wise decision to avoid the grocery store when it was crowded. I suppose people wanted to shop before the weekend, although it's not a holiday weekend up there, as it is here, is it? Hope you have a good weekend, Bushlady. Take care.
