Hazy Sunshine!

Today was a little better!  We had some hazy sunshine!

Last night, I felt very tired and not quite myself.  I had been feeling light-headed on and off throughout the day, yesterday.  I actually went to bed before 12:30 a.m.!   And fell asleep within a few minutes.  I woke up a couple of times during the night and, because I was concerned about being dehydrated, I made it a point to drink some water each time.

I slept for over 9 hours and woke up only because Dancer was demanding his breakfast!  He was carrying on as if he was starving, although he still had access to his bowl of kibbles.  I still felt a bit light-headed and looking down made me feel as if the floor was spinning!  I've had this happen before, too.  Apparently, changes in the air pressure cause my sinuses to get blocked and that affects my inner ear and balance.  The thing is, since I fainted and fell in the bathroom, that one time (from being dehydrated), I get nervous when I feel this.  So, I took it easy, today, too.  That feeling of being light-headed went away in the evening, after I lay down and dozed a bit on the sofa.

However, today, the air quality was a little better, the haze wasn't quite as thick, and there was some hazy sunshine!  It brightened up my mood, no end!  I ventured outside for a few minutes to collect the mail from yesterday (my medication refills were delivered) and to throw out the recycling and the trash.  There was a fine, powdery layer of ash on top of the trash bin lids!  No wonder my asthma was acting up!

Today, I practiced the piano, knitted, watched some TV, and ran the dishwasher.  Friend R called in the evening and we chatted for a bit.  Later, I video chatted with my daughter.

Today, I am grateful for:

- Slightly better air quality

- Hazy sunshine

- Working appliances (dishwasher)

- Phone calls and emails from friends

- My medication being delivered

Today's joyful activity was playing the piano.

Monday's To Do List:
- Piano lesson
- Change bed sheets
- Load of laundry (bed sheets/towels)
- Dust living room & dining area
- Clean the fridge
- Take trash cans to the curb for Tuesday trash pick up
- Water the front garden
- Cook

How was your weekend?  What are your plans for tomorrow?

  3. How close are the fires to you and your daughter? I'm glad you decided to take it easy - it sounds like your body was telling you to slow down.

Did Dancer want some tuna? He has standards to maintain!!

    1. They are not close enough that we can see the flames (have had that happen, before), but, there are so many fires up and down the state, and adjoining states, too, that our air is saturated with the smoke! Yes, I guess the stress of it all took a toll on me! I'm feeling better, now, though.

Yes, Dancer wanted his morning tuna. After that, he sleeps, generally until it is time for his evening tuna, which he would like in the afternoon, of course (so he can try to cajole me into giving him a spoonful at dinner time, too).

  4. I'm relieved the air quality was a little better for you today.
Poor Dancer, he must have been starving ;) Mog also asks for food when there's some still in the bowl. I think she just likes to see it full. X

  5. I hope you have a better night tonight. When I read about Dancer demanding breakfast I thought about the blue jays that I heard outside, long before I was ready to get up. They were trying to remind me to throw out some peanuts onto the porch. Alas, they had to wait a while until it was a more civilized hour. They also came squawking for some more just as we were finishing our lunch! It is fun to watch them fly down and take a peanut. Sometimes if there are two or three peanuts, they will check to see which is the biggest, putting down one and picking up another.

  6. Glad you are feeling better today. Lightheadedness is nothing to ignore, so I am glad you are being careful. Extra water, extra rest are always a good thing. Take care.
