A sunny, warm day.
I tended to some paperwork in the morning, paying a couple of bills and clearing up a backlog of filing. I am all caught up on paperwork, except for the bill that came in today's mail (cell phone bill) and sewer services letter. There is, of course, all the medical insurance paperwork to do, but, I can't do that until after Friday's phone appointment. I wanted to get the current stuff all up to date, before I start on the medical insurance application. There are other files to organize but, for now, those papers are in file folders and can wait.
Later, I practiced the piano and dusted the living room and dining area. I also cleaned out the fridge, wiping down the shelves and door handles. There wasn't anything that needed to be tossed, etc., however, I have accumulated quite a few bread ends, so, there might be a bread pudding in the future!
I had the last of the tomato soup for brunch and washed the dishes.
In the afternoon, I had my piano lesson, which went quite well. I was able to put aside two of the pieces I was playing. Now I have four pieces left to practice, with the hope of being able to finish two of them, next week. After which, I should receive another new piece to learn.
In the evening, I took the trash cans to the curb, watered the front garden, and did a load of laundry. The rest of the evening will be spent watching a dance competition on TV.
Today, I am grateful for:
- Learning to play the piano, again
- A patient piano teacher
- Being able to pay my bills
- My daughter's help and encouragement with everything I try to do
- Asthma inhalers
Today's joyful activity was getting caught up with the paperwork!
Monday's To Do List:
Well done on the piano progress. It sounds like all that practice is paying off. Does your daughter play? If yes, you'll be able to play duets together!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Eileen; I probably need to practice a lot more than I currently do! My fingers tend to reach for all the wrong notes! LOL. Yes, my daughter does play. She doesn't have a piano up there with her, but, she has my electronic key board. :)
DeleteYou are back to getting a lot done after your low key weekend.
ReplyDeleteIt feels good to tackle paperwork, doesn't it?
Bread Pudding sounds good :)
It does feel good to be on top of the paperwork, Debra. I am trying to keep up with the rest of the housework, too. I am tired of making excuses to myself about why I haven't been productive!
DeleteSounds like another productive day for you. Bread pudding sounds delicious! I have to take one of my kitty's in for a steroid shot, making the lemon chicken for dinner and then watching the presidential debate this evening. Have a great Tuesday :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Martha. Hope the kitty does well with the steroid shot. I, too, plan to watch the debate. Hope you, too, have a good day. :)
DeleteRight now everything in my world is topsy turvy. We are still cleaning out/getting rid of things from Mom's. My living room is totally empty except for the piano waiting on the movers who are bringing things from her house to mine. Emptying the LR means other rooms are stuffed to the gills as I shift everything.
ReplyDeleteI am feeling whiney today because I really want to be able to get things in order and start playing the piano and uke again. I actually just want life to be mine and not driven by Mom's house.
Oh, my goodness! Reminds me of the time when I had my carpets removed and the wood floors refinished! The entire house, other than the family room, kitchen, and the bathrooms, had wall-to-wall carpets. Every stick of furniture had to be crammed into those rooms! Obviously, the majority of it ended up in the family room - you can imagine just how crowded it got. Daughter and I slept on the family room sofas while all this was going on, and continued to go to school and work while the floors cured. The following weekend, I hosted the monthly prayer gathering!
DeleteI'm sorry you have to deal with this, now, Anne. I suggest you take 20 minutes for yourself and play the piano or the uke, either while waiting for the movers or after they've gone. (((HUGS)))
You reminded me that I need to go on-line and check my finances.
ReplyDeleteI've been feeling a bit flat for a couple of days but getting back into form. Yesterday was funny as we were just clearing our supper from the deck and putting away the cushions when the dog next door came rushing over, not wanting to miss his treat!
I don't think you are alone in feeling a bit flat, Bushlady. I think we are all feeling it. We've spent all of spring and all of summer under stressful conditions and it looks like we will be spending fall and, maybe, even, winter, under similarly stressful conditions. That initial thought that this will be of short duration is gone and we know we are in for the long haul. It is enough to deflate even the most upbeat among us, isn't it? But, I think we all have an inner resiliency and we will bounce back. (((HUGS)))
DeleteYour neighbor's dog is too funny! :D
Is the dance competition you watched, Dancing with the Stars? I have watched some of that in the past, but just don't like that they replaced the old hosts.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is! My daughter and I watched the first season together and I have been watching it ever since. Daughter doesn't have TV service, so she rarely watches it, now, but she once took a dance workshop held by two of the former professional dancers (don't want to be name dropping, but, they are a brother and sister, who have since appeared as judges in some of the seasons). In fact, that was the highlight of one of her visits home, that year. :)
DeleteName drop all you want. I am impressed. :)
DeleteThank you, Live and Learn. :)
