Restful Thursday

I've had a very quiet day, today.  I decided to take a day of rest.  I didn't go anywhere or do anything!  I did call my office and left a message for my supervisor (even though I am on vacation this week) to indicate my availability for an up-coming project, but she emailed me back to say that someone else volunteered for it before I did and that they will keep me in mind for the next available project.  Suits me!  But, other than that, I didn't do anything!  I had planned to go to Costco to stock up on things, etc., but I decided to stay home and just rest.  I am glad I am able to do that!  I played on my computer (jigsaw puzzles), read blogs, emptied the trash, and washed a few dishes, but that was about it!  I guess I felt the need to make the most of being on vacation before returning to work!

My daughter has gone out to dinner with my neighbor's daughters.  They've known each other and have been friends since childhood.  One girl is two years older than my daughter and the other girl is two years younger than my daughter.

Today, I am grateful for:
- A lovely, sunny, relatively warm day.
- Being on vacation.
- A restful day.
- My daughter spending the evening with friends.
- Chatting on the phone with my friend.

How was your day?

    1. Yes. I felt a bit guilty about it, as there's much that should to be done, but I think I needed it. Learning not to push myself!

  3. Sounds like a lovely day, just going at your own pace and doing some things that you enjoy. It's good to take the time to re-charge our batteries every so often. xx

  5. Glad you had a nice relaxing day. We all need one of those once in a while. I'm trying to enjoy time with daughter before she leaves - only a few days now!

  6. I am recovering slowly from a very nasty illness over Christmas, and I am glad to see that you are still celebrating the 12 days of Christmas...still writing cards and sending gifts. I feel I put far too much work into preparations to have everything be over so soon. *laugh* While catching up on your blog posts, I read that your neighbour passed. I'm so sorry. That must have come as a shock. It sounds like you have had a wonderful Christmas week with having your daughter home and being invited out to friends' and family's homes. And now you are easing back into work this coming week. So much has happened in one week, I scarcely believe so little time has evolved. Wishing you a wonderful New Year's Eve.

    1. Susan, I was so sorry to read that you had been so ill over Christmas. We do tend to push ourselves to get every thing done to perfection, don't we? I learnt my lesson with the almsgiving preparations! In the end I couldn't do anything at all!

Yes, I do like the Christmas season to last longer than just one day. :) There is less of a feeling of let down that way, I think.

I hope your recovery goes smoothly and you take the time to rest as you need to. :) (((HUGS)))
