Resting on Sunday

Daughter's Art Work

I realized today, after Eileen T commented that some of her comments seem to have gone astray, that several comments had gone to my spam folder, instead of my inbox!  I haven't been checking my spam folder, recently, and didn't realize that several comments had gone there!  I apologize!  I have published them all and responded to them.  I shall make it a point to check the spam folder on a more regular basis!

Today was another warm day, but, cooler than yesterday, with a high of only 84F.  After a morning of publishing and replying to blog comments that had gone to the spam folder, I watched some online videos and played a few sudoku games.  I had leftover fish curry and a tortilla for brunch.

In the afternoon, I did some patchwork sewing.  It was supposed to have been a relaxing activity, except, I began to get a headache!  It started with a visual aura in my right eye and I stopped sewing and rested.  After some time, the visual aura stopped, but, then, I had a dull headache over my left temple.  I checked my blood pressure, but, it was good.  Maybe I was dehydrated or my sugar level was low.  I drank some water, ate the rest of my fruit salad, and drank a cup of tea.  Eventually, however, I took a Tylenol to help with the headache.

In the evening, I watered the back garden, started the car, and cleaned the litterbox.  Dinner was leftovers from last night's dinner, with yogurt for dessert.

During the day, I chatted with neighbor T, friend A, friend R, and Aunt C.  Later, I video chatted with my daughter.  She sent me a photo of a painting she did, today.

I think I shall try to have an earlier than usual night, tonight!  Maybe the headache was due to a lack of sufficient sleep!

Today, I am grateful for:
- A restful day
- Phone chats with family, friends, and neighbors; video chats with my daughter
- Water for the garden
- The car starting without any problem
- Medications for headaches

Today's joyful activity was sewing my patchwork blocks.

Monday's To Do List:
- Change bed sheets
- Load of laundry
- Dust living room & dining area
- Clean the fridge
- Take trash cans to the curb for Tuesday trash pick up
- Water the front garden with water I've collected in buckets
- Meal plan

How was your Sunday?  What are your plans for Monday?

  1. I've read that quite a few bloggers are having trouble leaving comments and indeed some do end up in the spam folder, some landed in mine too. I hope you don't have a return of those headaches and hope you are feeling much better now. Your daughter's painting is lovely, she is so talented. I have to go for an X-ray today and more tests tomorrow but I will make the most of being out and about and take Tilly to the beach as well, we'll both enjoy that.

    1. I had no idea that comments were going to the spam folder! I should remember to check it, every now and then!
Thank you, Eileen; I'm over the headache, today. I made sure I had 8 hrs. of sleep and will keep myself hydrated.
Good luck with the X-ray and tomorrow's tests. I hope everything comes out normal with nothing to worry about. Yes, definitely make the most of being out and about and maybe have a treat while you are at it, too! :)

  2. Hopefully that headache is well on the run. Your daughter's artwork of the Bird of Paradise is excellent. Maybe as part of your staycation the two of you can do another art night together. Thanks for the reminder to check my blog's spam folder. I am not liking the changes Blogger has made.

    1. The headache is gone, now, Mary-Lou and I hope it doesn't return! Thank you; she did a good painting, didn't she? I like the suggestion of an art night with her! Hopefully, you won't find any comments in your spam folder, but, checking it every so often is a good thing! :)

  3. Your headache sounds like a migraine. I've only had a visual aura a few times at the beginning of one, but I find them quite unsettling. There are so many things that can trigger headaches, but I hope hydrating better and more sleep prevents any further ones for you.
Was your daughter's painting done with watercolors? It is very nice.

    1. I used to get some awful migraines at one time and I also get these visual auras sometimes, with or without a headache. Yesterday's headache might have been a very mild migraine, because there was some nausea, as well. Yes, my headache might have been due to insufficient sleep and hydration. I made sure to get 8 hours of sleep last night and I am on my 5th cup of water, today!
I believe the painting was done with watercolors; I'll ask her. :)

  5. Sorry to hear you had a bad headache and hope you are feeling much better now.

I love your daughter's painting. I like this one best of all the ones you've shown us so far.

Today has turned out to be a relaxing day, not at all what I planned but when I was planning I'd completely forgotten that the Queen's Club tennis tournament would be on TV every day this week, so I've been watching that all afternoon.

    1. Thank you, Eileen; the headache is gone, today. I made sure to get 8 hrs. of sleep and am drinking plenty of water. :)

The painting did turn out well, didn't it?

Glad you are having a relaxed day, watching the tennis tournament! I think tennis would be a lot nicer to watch than the hearings I'm watching now, but, you know me; I'm a news junkie!

  6. I love your daughter's painting. Good that you have found the missing comments. Sometimes the internet gets too clever! I hope you don't get any more headaches.
I did two lots of laundry this morning and hung them on the line. I took out some garbage and compost and met the neighbours' dog who was very happy to inform me that treats were long overdue!

    1. Thank you, Bushlady; I, too, like her painting a lot. :)
I am now making it a point to check the spam folder!
I, too, hope I don't get any more headaches. I made sure to get a proper 8 hours of sleep last night and I'm making it a point to drink plenty of water!
I, too, did two loads of laundry, today! Everything is hung up, but, inside the house (I'm afraid fleas might get on the wash if I hang it outside!) It's warm enough that things dry indoors in just a few hours.
Your neighbor's dog is too much! :D

  7. Hopefully you got some good sleep last night and you are feeling better today.
That's interesting about the spam folder putting random comments (from people who always comment) into that folder.
    It's good you noticed.

It was Eileen's comment that several of her comments seem to have gone astray that prompted me to check the spam folder! I've no idea why that happened, but, apparently, others are also finding comments from regular readers are going to the spam folder!

  8. I never knew about the spam folder. I guess I better check mine. I'm glad your headache has gone away; I am always afraid they might be a sign of a stroke. Your daughter is so talented!

    1. Yes, better check the spam folder to make sure no comments have gone there!
Thank you, Stephenie, the headache has gone away. Yes, there is always a possibility of a stroke, although I didn't think about it, yesterday!
Thank you; when she was a little girl, my daughter used to cry and say she couldn't draw! I think she just needed to find her style of drawing and painting. :)

I find blogger is making weird changes too. I often find that my comments show as anonymous although I'm definitely not! Signed Angie just in case 😁

  10. Here I am catching up...! Blogger/Google keep throwing up more and more problems. Why can't they just leave things alone (when they work) and stop tinkering! For every "improvement" they seem to create two problems. I'm glad you got over your (by now no doubt forgotten) headache and hope you have made progress on the patchwork.

    1. Glad to hear from you, always, Lady Ella. I don't know what is going on the Blogger! Thank you, yes, I'm over my headache and very glad that I am! Unfortunately, I gave up on the patchwork! I'm trying to resize a pattern to suit my purposes and I need to work on it a bit more. But, I think I'll wait until after my daughter's visit. I want to focus on being with her. :)
