Monday: Making To Do Lists

Monday morning, I woke up to a phone call from my friend who will be making the fish curry for the prayer gathering dinner, offering to make the meat curry, as well.  I demurred at first, but agreed to it, eventually.  She does catering, so I will be paying her for the curry, but I really appreciate her offering to cook it for me.  It's one less thing I have to do.

I seem to be back to having a mile long list of things to do!  Not just in preparation for the prayer meeting, but also in preparation for going back to the office in another week or so.  It can be a bit overwhelming, but I know I can get it done, one baby step at a time.

I called the clinic, in the morning, to make an appointment to see my primary care physician, as I need a new prescription and I've been advised to get a flu shot before I go back to the office.  The appointment was made for Wednesday afternoon.

Then, I put away the laundry from yesterday and did another load.  Later this week, I need to do the bed sheets.

Later in the evening, I took the trash cans to the curb for pick up tomorrow.  I usually clean out the fridge on Mondays so I can toss any items that need to be thrown, but I didn't get around to it.  I had planned to water the front garden, too, (I had watered the back garden, yesterday) but I didn't get around to it, either.  They will go on Tuesday's list.  Finally, I washed the dishes and wiped the kitchen counters and stove top.

In between, I spoke on the phone with one of my aunts and with one of my cousins who called from Australia.  And I video chatted with my daughter.  We had a cyber pillow fight!  :D

    1. Dawn, it made my daughter laugh. She said she loved it when I played with her. I think we've been a bit too serious this past year, with all that has been happening. Time for a little levity. :)

  2. Those are big lists! I'm glad you're getting a flu shot. I'm a real believer in flu shots, but I've noticed that they always come with a cold! x

  3. A cyber pillow fight sounds great fun:) I think you are wise to accept all offers of help as reading previous posts there certainly seems a lot of things to do. I'm sure it will all fall into place though and then you'll be able to relax and enjoy the get together.

When you return to work will you be going back full time or will you start off with a couple of days and build up from there? xx

    1. We were being silly, but it was a lot of fun! :D

Yes, I am accepting all offers of help because I am still getting tired very easily. I am doing things a little at a time, so I don't get too tired.

I don't know how the return to work will go. Right now, I am working full time from home, but I have the luxury of sleeping in if I need to and making up the hours later in the evening. I will try to work full time at the office, but, if I need to, I'll ask if I can go in on 3 days and work from home on the other days.

    1. Thanks Carolyn. I am baby-stepping my way down the to do list. I need to take frequent rest breaks, but it will get done.

  5. It sounds like your family is scattered around the world. :) I have a sister who lives in Tahiti and a cousin who lives part of the time in Thailand (he has a home there along with one in Portland, Oregon and divides his time between them, Los Angeles and New York where he owns several restaurants).

Praying that your upcoming return to work will not be too taxing on your body as it continues to heal.

    Be blessed!
