A Garden Rose from the Archives |
On Thursday, it was much cooler with a high of only 85F. We will be back in the mid 90s over the weekend.
I called the dermatologist and the other dentist to make appointments and left messages with both. I am waiting to be called back to make the appointments.
While I waited to be called back, I mended a T-shirt that daughter had brought back with her, sewing closed a seam that had opened up. I did another load or two of laundry, as well, including the "Love is a Wild Goose Chase" quilt I had made back in 2014 for my daughter and the Texas Star quilt I had made back in 1990 for myself, which I had given to my daughter to take with her. I noted that I will have to put a new binding around the star quilt as the edges are quite frayed.
Later in the evening, I cooked a chicken curry and dhal and a fresh pot of rice. We had some of my homemade tomato chutney with it. I had some of my peach gelatin dessert with yogurt mixed in, which helps to tone down the sweetness to a more acceptable level.
I also ran the dishwasher and cleaned the kitchen a little, wiping down the stove top and the counters and scrubbing the sink.
On Thursday, daughter finished unpacking the last of her boxes! Mount Boxmore is no more! We celebrated her accomplishment with an hour or so of crafting, doing a new to me craft known as diamond painting. It's something daughter has done before, but, it was my first time. It's a little like painting by numbers, but, with tiny plastic faceted "dots". It's fun, but, I need a magnifying glass to see where I need to place the dots.
On Thursday, I was grateful for:
- The cooler day
- Access to medical services
- Working appliances
- Mt. Boxmore being conquered
- Quilts
Thursday's joyful activity was crafting with my daughter.
Plans for Friday include going to my doctor's appointment, picking up medication refills from the pharmacy, and tending to the garden with M.
How was your Thursday? What are your plans for Friday?
