Dancer Climbs Mt. Boxmore! |
Thank you, everyone, for your kind comments on the card daughter painted. I told her that several of you had admired it and she says thank you.
It's been two weeks since daughter came back home. Mt. Boxmore is still taking up the middle of the living room, but, after ignoring it all these days, I found Dancer sleeping on top of one of the boxes very early on Friday morning (he woke up and blinked at me when I turned on the light to take the picture).
Daughter started going through, decluttering and organizing her bedroom last Saturday and she finished, today. She went through every item in her closet, went through each and every drawer, the shelves on the two bookcases, and the top of her desk. She wanted to sort out her room before she unpacked her boxes. She is certain that there will be more decluttering as she tries to find homes for the items she brought with her. But, the initial pass has been completed and I am amazed at the speed in which she accomplished it. She set a lot aside for donations and tossed a lot of items, as well. She has motivated me to do another round of decluttering, myself.
While she was busy cleaning out her room, I called the vet clinic and scheduled Dancer's Solensia injection, folded and put away some laundry, started a new grocery order, watched news and some online videos, and watered the back garden. As I was nearing the end of the watering, I heard someone at the gate and looked around to see gardener friend M! I was so surprised to see him and asked him what he was doing here because I thought he was on a two weeks break, but, apparently, he only took a week long break! Since I had just about finished watering the back garden, he did some tidying up and watered the front garden.
We had tuna salad sandwiches and apple slices for brunch. For dinner, I made a sort of fried rice with leftover rice, the leftover half a hamburger patty cut up small, some frozen green peas, peanuts, a little spice blend, and soy sauce. We had leftover hotdog stir fry with it. There was a little fried rice leftover, as well as a little of the hotdog stir fry; it'll be enough for my brunch or a snack for daughter. Daughter had some ice cream and I had some chocolate wafers for dessert. Later, after dinner, I ran the dishwasher.
On Friday, I was grateful for:
- Daughter being home
- M taking a shorter break than I thought
- A cooler day (highs in the low 80s)
- Water for the garden
- Working appliances
Friday's joyful activity was spending time in the garden.
Plans for Saturday include putting in a grocery order and picking up the groceries, picking up my medications (didn't do it on Friday), and maybe some sort of a crafts project.
How was your Friday? What are your plans for the weekend?
