Sunday morning was partly sunny, but, the clouds moved in during the afternoon and evening until it started to rain around 9:00 p.m. It is still raining at past 1:00 a.m., as I type this post.
I had a fairly quiet day. I relaxed, watched some online videos, sorted through a few things, decluttered a few items, did a load of dishes, and cleaned the litter box. Later, I chatted with friend R and exchanged emails with a friend.
I also chatted with daughter in the morning and again at night. She did a bit of shopping in the afternoon, exchanging a pair of shoes she had bought online for a slightly smaller pair, buying another bottle of ibuprofen since she had forgotten to take her bottle back with her and left it down here, and buying a few groceries, especially the half and half for her coffee. Then, she did laundry.
Brunch had been a frozen burrito and I had a toasted cheese sandwich with my tea in the evening. Dinner was a hamburger and fries. I made too many fries, so I have some leftover to have with my dinner, tomorrow.
Today, I am grateful for:
- More rain for the garden
- Daughter was able to exchange her shoes
- Working appliances
- Electricity
- Chats with daughter and friends
Today's joyful activity was video chatting with my daughter.
Monday's To Do List:
- Call the doctor's office to request a medication refill
- Dust the living room and dining area
- Freezer inventory
- Meal plan
- Clean the fridge
- Take the trash cans to the curb/end of the driveway
How was your weekend? What are your plans for Monday?
Sounds like a nice relaxing day for you and nice to have a good catch up with your daughter. We only had a few light showers yesterday and I managed to wash the bedding and dry it outside on the line so very happy.
ReplyDeleteIt was a relaxed day, Eileen. Sounds like you were able to make the best of a rainy day!
DeleteGlad to read that your daughter is safe at her home. It was such a lovely treat to have that extra time with her at Christmas/New Year's. Plans for Monday include shoveling or using the snow blower to clear the driveway of snow, again! Happy week.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mary-Lou. It was such a lovely treat to have some extra time with her! When she first went up north, it was going to be for just two years while she did her Master's; she was going to come back down and look for a job. Then, when she was offered a job up there, it was going to be for another two years to get some work experience and then, she was going to come down to look for a job closer to home. But those two years came and went and she's still up there! LOL.
DeleteSounds like you've lots of snow and a busy day planned! Good luck clearing the driveway! Hope you, too, have a happy week. :)
Isn't it wonderful to have all this rain for the garden? I am relieved that we don't need to water. Enjoy your fries...I may make some for lunch today, too.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful to have all this rain! I received my water bill for Dec/Jan. and I was well below my Tier 1 water allocation! Of course, the gas bill was something else, but, you win some and you lose some! I might have some of the leftover fries for my dinner, tonight! :)
DeleteIt must be strange for you without your daughter there. Do you find it takes a couple of days adjustment to get used to solo living again?
ReplyDeleteI've had a reasonably quiet day today (Monday). I haven't done half of the things I planned but I have done some of the housework and dealt with some emails. I'm just taking a break from deciding on a shopping list to take advantage of some decent offers at the supermarkets and working out what meals I can use these offers for. I'll finish that up when I've finished reading and commenting on blogs and have completed my piano practice. xx
I miss her when she's gone but, after a day or so, I get used to being on my own again. :)
DeleteSounds like you accomplished quite a bit, between the housework, emails, piano practice, and meal planning. I need to do my own meal planning, still. Hope you've had a relaxed rest of the day.
Ah, I am so glad you wrote clean out the fridge. My garbage pickup is in the morning and I need to clean mine out before then.Thank you for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome, Anne. :) Hope you were able to get the fridge cleaned out!
DeleteHmmm - too many fries? Sounds like a subconscious sneaky way of having an excuse for fries the next day as well! We are not fooled! 😀
ReplyDeleteIt was around 15°F when we got up, but it is warming up now although still below freezing. I did a little ferreting around in the basement this morning and stored some items in a way that takes up less space. I also fetched up something to donate.
LOL, you caught me out, Bushlady! :D
DeleteBrr! That sounds cold! Sounds like you had a productive day and well done finding something to donate, as well. :)
Monday looks like it will be a busy day!! I love the way that you do daily gratefuls. xxxx
ReplyDeleteMonday did turn out to be a busy day! Thank you, Ratnamurti; the daily gratitudes keep me focused on the positives. :) Are you impacted by the flooding I've been hearing about on the news?
DeleteSounds like a lovely relaxing day. I bet the house seems really quiet. Glad your daughter was able to exchange her shoes.
ReplyDeleteIt was a relaxed day and yes, the house does seem really quiet. Dancer is missing here, too. :)
DeleteIt's so nice you got some more rain! I'm thinking those buckets were all lined up and now have some spare water in them.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a nice relaxing Sunday.
You made too many fries? I have never heard of that possibility. ;)
I collected about 3 inches of rain water in each bucket! M used some of it to water the blueberry bushes, yesterday. :)
DeleteYes, I did have a very relaxing Sunday and yes, I made too many fries! I cut up one small potato and it didn't look enough, so, cut up a second potato and it was too much! LOL. I ate them for dinner, last night, though. :)
