Productive Monday

Another sunny and warm (86F was our afternoon high) day.  Tomorrow, however, according to the forecast, the weather will change and the rest of the week will be cloudy, or partly cloudy, and cooler, with the highs in the low to mid 70s.  That's sweater weather for me!  LOL.

After morning tea and prayers, etc., I started on my To Do list, taking breaks to read and respond to blog comments and visit a few other blogs.

I finished dusting the family room and dusted my bedroom, vacuumed the house, cleaned the fridge (the shelves were fine, but, the three drawers had to be cleaned out, washed, and lined with new paper towels before the things stored in them could be put back!), took the kitchen composting to the garden, watered the seedlings, took the trash can and yard waste bin to the curb for pick up in the morning, and cooked - a ground beef curry, a pot of tomato soup (using a packet of the homegrown tomatoes I had frozen), and some seasoned croutons using bread ends I had stored for the purpose.

I kept up with the dishes and pans while I cooked, so only the dinner dishes will be left to be washed.

I also called neighbor T to check on her (she had told me that her daughter would be out of state for the first part of this week and I had promised to call and check on her, daily).  Called friend R and checked on her, too.  I asked both ladies if they needed anything from the grocery store since I will be ordering groceries, tonight, but, they both said they had plenty of groceries.  T said her daughter did her grocery shopping, yesterday, and R did her grocery shopping on Saturday.

Daughter took the kitchen trash, etc., to the trash bin for me, after I had cooked, because I was tired by then!   I am happy with what I was able to accomplish, today, though!  I wanted to get the house cleaning and cooking done before I go for my Covid vaccine booster shot, tomorrow!  I expect I will have some side effects on Wednesday; with the housecleaning and cooking done, I won't feel guilty about relaxing on Wednesday and even Thursday.  I do hope that I will not get the sciatica pains as a side effect, again!  That was just a horrible experience!

Well, I haven't seen Bun Bun in days (maybe even a week), Snowbunny and Pirate Bunny in weeks, and Bunny Foo Foo in months, but, today, I saw a little black bunny in the front garden!  Twice!  Once in the morning and later, in the evening, when daughter saw it, too!  I was unable to take a picture of it, but, I hope to see it again, soon!  I wonder if there are more little bunnies!  I'm not sure if I am ready to host all of them!

Today, I am grateful for:

- The sunny and warm day
- A productive day
- The newly planted seedlings seem to be doing well
- Weekly trash pick up
- Phone calls and emails from friends

Today's joyful activity was watching a favorite dance program on TV with daughter.

Tuesday's To Do List:

- Mop the kitchen floor
- Bring the trash cans in
- Pick up groceries
- Get the booster shot

How was your Monday?  What are your plans for Tuesday?

  2. I hope you don't have any nasty side effects following your booster jab. i have my third dose tomorrow and am expecting to feel ill for a couple of days afterwards. I hope the bunnies are OK and I hope you don't have lots of little bunny visitors to your garden.

    1. Thank you, Eileen. I hope neither of us will feel any bad side effects. I was reminded to be well hydrated ("drink 16 fl. oz. of water 1 hour before the appointment") before the jab, as that helps to minimize side effects. I hope little black bunny doesn't discover my back garden! :D

  3. You were busy yesterday and very productive. It's a good feeling to get things accomplished around the house.

Good luck with your booster today. I've forgotten - was your original two-dose vaccine Pfizer or Moderna? And what will you get today?
Anecodotally I've heard that people that are well hydrated handle this and other vaccines better than those people that aren't. You have a problem with being well hydrated so drink some water before you go!

    1. Thank, Debra. I wanted to get as much of the weekly housekeeping done before my booster shot, so that, I didn't have to fret about housework afterwards.

I had the Moderna and I will be getting the Moderna booster, today. The pharmacy sent a notification telling to drink at least 16 fl. oz. of water one hour before the appointment! I will be drinking that and more!

  4. You were a busy bee! Worth the effort though if it means you can have a couple of restful days post booster jab without stressing about what needs to be done. I do hope you booster goes smoothly and that it does trigger the sciatica again. Do you have any of the medication, just in case?

    1. Yes, I was anxious to get most of it done, especially if I am unable to do much for more than a few days, afterwards. Thank you; I hope you meant to say that it does NOT trigger the sciatica! :D I have some of the pain killers from earlier, but, not the anti-viral meds. That will be prescribed only as needed. But, we will call the doctor and ask for it, if I get any pains! Hopefully, I won't!

  5. And don't forget to move your arm a lot to help minimize the soreness at the injection site. I didn't do that the first time and my arm was sorer than it ever had been. But I did do extra movement the second time and that helped. I was sore, but functioning. I hope a little bit of a sore arm is the only side effect you have with your booster.

    1. Thank you, June. I will definitely remember to move my arm! Apparently, the Moderna booster is only half the strength of the full dose; I'm hoping that that translates to fewer and weaker side effects! :)

  6. A new bunny? They do love your garden don't they?
I hope the booster shot goes well with no troublesome side effects. We will be eligible for ours at the end of December.
I'm taking a small box of donations to a charity shop today, on my way for a routine mammogram. (boob sandwich 😀)

    1. Yes, a new little bunny! No mama bunny around that I could see. It is very cute, but, groan! There goes the garden! :D
Thank you, Bushlady, I am hoping the booster shot goes well! I also hope that your mammogram results will be fine! You are too funny! Boob sandwich, indeed! :D I'll have mine in January!
