Wednesday

I processed yesterday's mail before I went to bed, last night - two pieces of mail got recycled, two medical billing statements (details of medical bills paid by insurance, not bills I need to pay) were filed, and the last piece of mail, about an upcoming medical insurance requirements workshop) was kept aside to call to make a reservation to attend it.  This morning, I made the phone call and reserved a place at the workshop, scheduled for March, and made a note of it on my calendar.  I am supposed to receive a letter of confirmation, a week or so prior to the workshop; if not, I'll call.

I dealt with today's paperwork, right away - this week's grocery ads, some junk mail, and a reminder from my tax preparer.  I had already scheduled an appointment to meet with her, but, I might have to take time out from scrapbooking to get all my tax papers together!

Cousin N called in the morning and we chatted a bit.  Later, I called cousin P and had a chat with her.  The "family spoke" of my balanced life wheel is getting nicely plumped, this month.

Breakfast was cereal with milk.  Lunch was the last of the tuna salad on a slice of bread.  Dinner was rice, beef curry, and sauteed green beans.  Later, I snacked on cheese and crackers and fruit.

Dancer joined me in singing at the piano, again, today!  This time, he decided to join in on a song about a cuckoo. . ."Cuckoo", "Meow", "Cuckoo", "Meow, meow".

In the afternoon, I vacuumed, organized the rest of the drawers in my chest of drawers, did some scrapbooking, and, in the early evening, watered the back garden.  Later, I video chatted with my daughter.

Today, I am grateful for:
- Phone chats with my cousins
- Hot and cold running water on tap
- Duplicate photos (they were a printing error, at the time, but, I am glad to have them!)
- Water for the garden
- Video chatting with my daughter

- Paperwork/filing - DONE
- Call to schedule an appointment - DONE

  1. WooHoo! Look at you go. You must be feeling some of that Spring Fever. I like those kind of days when things on my list get done. You must feel very accomplished. I would also hold off on that trip to the Post Office until that time when I had to leave the house anyway, like your shopping trip today.

I definitely think Dancer is singing along with you.

    1. Happy birthday, Susan!

Thank you. For some odd reason, I wasn't very happy with my accomplishments, yesterday. I really wasn't motivated to do anything and I didn't feel like I accomplished all that much, which is why I wrote down just about every little thing I did! I guess I was in a bit of a mood!

I think Dancer thinks I should stop playing the piano and feed him, instead! :D

  2. I had a cat once that got in my face and meowed every time I sang. I thought she was saying she liked it and was singing along. My family teased me and said she was trying to get me to stop. I guess we'll never know. :) Maybe my cat and Dancer could have sung a duet.

    1. Oh, that's too funny, Live and Learn! I think Dancer is probably saying my piano playing is hurting his ears and he should get some tuna to make up for it! :D

  3. Hi Bless,
This is Mia. I haven't commented in quite a while. But, I have been reading your blog everyday. I had to have my spleen removed in December due to internal bleeding. My husband was offered a promotion at his job to move to Texas. So, we moved in January. His company services the commissary at all military bases. They put him in charge of all 12 bases in Texas. I've lived in California my whole entire life, 57 years. But, the kids are grown and we decided it was time for a new adventure. The cost of living here is just so great. Gas is $1.88 a gallon. Unbelievable. We are paying $600.00 less per month than we paid in Ontario, CA for the same amount of house and it's a one story. I love it. Getting too old for a 2 story. LOL. Still dealing with my thyroid and have to find a doctor out here. Do miss my daughter. She's still in Ontario. But we talk almost everyday. The people here are SO nice. I can't get over it. We are In San Antonio. Texas is a very big military state. Many bases out here. Still recovering from surgery. It looks like I had open heart surgery. My belly button is now sideways. LOL. I'm getting pretty bored. You can only clean and cook so much. LOL. Plan on looking for some kind of a job in the next few months. Glad everything is going well for you. Oh, we had snow here last week. It was pretty cool to look out the sliding glass door and see it on the patio chairs. Weather here is weird. Rain one day, then heat. Today it's raining.

    1. Mia! It is so nice to hear from you, again! I had wondered how you were, but, figured out you had your reasons for not commenting. I'm sorry you had to undergo more surgery, but, hopefully, you are recovering well.

Oh, my! You've had a lot happening with a move to Texas and everything! I have some extended family in Texas and they are constantly telling me to move out there, due to the lower cost of living! Sounds like you are happy with the move and that is what matters, isn't it?

I'm happy to know that you've been reading my blog, throughout, and hope to hear from you more often. Take care and thank you, again, for commenting. :)

  4. Dancer obviously loves songs with animals or birds in them!
Isn't it annoying to have to take time to deal with tax papers when there are far more interesting things to do?

I had a pleasant walk to the mailbox but on the way back, the local nuisance dog, a huge German Shepherd, snuck up behind me and raced by me giving me a real shock, then turned around and looked at me as if to say, "aren't I clever?" I don't know how he gets loose but I wish he wouldn't!

    1. I told my piano teacher that Dancer sings when I play some of the songs and she was highly amused. :D

I decided that the tax papers can wait until next week. I put all the statements in one folder when they arrive, but, there are one or two other items I need to pull out from various other folders as proof of deductions. But, since I am more or less caught up with my filing, it shouldn't be too much of a hassle. In previous years, I've had to file first, in order to find the needed documents! :o

Oh, my! That big German Shepherd would have given me a fright! At least he didn't bump into you! Can you file a complaint about him running loose like that?

    2. Our municipality no longer has a dog-catcher so he's a free agent!

    3. Well, I hope he doesn't knock someone down or attack someone! Maybe he's hoping you'll give him a treat like you do with your friend's dog!

  5. When I was teaching full time one parent sent me a video of her 9 year old son practicing his saxophone. He hadn't been learning for long so only knew about five notes and was still struggling to produce a pleasant sound. In the video he was dutifully playing the pieces I'd set accompanied by the two family dogs howling away!
